S'more tips for a smooth camping arrival at Sandbanks:

Preregister before your visit by logging into your Ontario Parks account and selecting:

➡️ “My Reservations”
➡️ “View registration details”
➡️ “Preregister”

You’ll also get a self check-in email reminder on the day of your trip! This step lets you confirm:

🚘 Your licence plate
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Names of all campsite occupants

It’s quick—and helps you get into the park faster so you can get stright to marshamallow roasting.🔥

Give it up for pollinators in the park!

They work extraordinarily hard this time of year to to pollinate wildflowers and plants that keep park ecosystems healthy, vibrant, and growing.

But wait!; It's not only the bees we have to thank. See who else we can thank for supporting local polination:

🪰 Hoverflies
🪲 Beetles
🌙 Moths
🐜 Ants
🐦 Birds

What a powerful reminder that nature works best when many hands (and wings) work together 💪

🐢✨ There’s a good chance you’ll spot some wild neighbours while visiting Sandbanks—and honestly, it’s one of the best parts of being here!

Just remember: admire from a distance and give them the space they need to thrive.

🐢🌿 Turtles are on the move, looking for the perfect nesting grounds!

Here’s how you can help:

🚗 If a turtle is crossing the road, gently help it in the direction it’s already going or let park staff know.

🪺 Notify park staff about nesting turtles. We can safely protect the site with a marked box.

🐢 Watch your step! hatchlings are toonie-sized and easily mistaken for rocks.

🚫 Don't add unexpected guests to your camping trip!

The wild inhabitants of Sandbanks could be tempted to pay you a visit if you leave food around your site. This can be a danger to both animals and campers alike!

Make sure you keep your campsite free of animal atractants:

🚗 store food in your vehicle
🍽️ dump dirty dish water into a vault toilet
🔥 don't leave garbage in firepits
🗑️ keep bagged trash in your vehicle or garbage bin

This cutie can find his own forest snacks; don't let him find yours!
