We don’t just inherit the Earth—we shape how the next generation will care for it.

🌾 Show them how to tread lightly on trails.
🌊 Teach them to pause by the shoreline.
🔎 Let them explore, wonder, and belong.

Because a child who falls in love with a place like this…
grows into someone who will protect it. 💚

🐢✨ There’s a good chance you’ll spot some wild neighbours while visiting Sandbanks—and honestly, it’s one of the best parts of being here!

Just remember: admire from a distance and give them the space they need to thrive.

The Red Trillium (aka Wake‑robin) is the woodland cousin to the iconic White Trillium.

While close relatives, the Red Trillium stands apart with its deep burgundy petals and rich, earthy presence on the forest floor. 😍

Look for it in rich, undisturbed woodlands this spring, where it blooms briefly in the shady understory before the tree canopy fills in.

Remember to keep your pet on-leash at all times (even in pet-friendly spaces) and always pick up after them. 💩🗑️

She's back!...

Ontario's Provincial flower, the White Trillium.

3️⃣ These spring ephemerals have three broad leaves, three small green sepals, three petals and a three-sectioned seedpod.

🌼 If you pick a trillium, the plant will not be able photosynthesize and gather nutrients - often resulting in the plant dying.

☮️ The white blooms that occur in early spring are associated with peace and hope.
