🚨 Traffic Advisory 🚨

The Listuguj Police wish to advise all motorists that the JC Van Horne Bridge will be shut down to all motorists at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, May 29th, for the transport of windmill blades.

The bridge will be closed for a short period of time while the transport crosses safely.

Motorists are asked to plan accordingly and expect minor delays.

The Listuguj Police Department is asking parents to please speak with your children about safely driving their bicycles, electric bikes, dirt bikes and 4-wheelers around the community.

We’ve received concerns regarding speeding, unsafe driving, and not staying on their side of the road. We do not want to see anyone seriously injured or involved in a fatal accident due to careless driving or lack of safety.

By working together as a community, we can help keep everyone safe while still allowing our youth to enjoy themselves responsibly.

Head injuries sustained while cycling can be serious or fatal. Avoid the worst by wearing a helmet!

That under the Highway Safety Code, helmets are required while operating an electric bike.

Failure to comply with the rules set out under the Highway Safety Code could result in fines ranging from $60 to $100.

The Listuguj Police Department had the pleasure of hosting the AGS Peacekeepers for a BBQ lunch today.

The group was given a tour of the department by Cst. Castonguay followed by a great Q&A discussion around the conference table.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share experiences, and strengthen positive relationships with the youth in our community.

⚠️ Public Advisory – Counterfeit U.S. Currency⚠️

The Listuguj Police Department would like to advise the public and local business owners to remain vigilant when accepting cash payments, as counterfeit American currency has been identified circulating in the area.

Please take a moment to carefully inspect all U.S. bills before accepting them. Counterfeit bills may contain incorrect information, poor print quality, irregular colours, missing security features, or inconsistencies compared to genuine currency.

Businesses and community members are encouraged to:
• Carefully check larger denomination bills
• Compare suspicious bills with genuine currency when possible
• Be cautious of rushed transactions or distraction tactics

If you believe you have received counterfeit money:
• Do not attempt to pass the bill to someone else
• Safely retain the bill if possible
• Contact police immediately and provide any information regarding the transaction
