APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

We are looking to fill an assistant buyer position, beginning immediately, on a full-time, temporary, 15 months contract with a possibility of extension. Due to the ongoing covid-19 situation, all interviews will be conducted virtually, and the successful candidate will work remotely until an undetermined date. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

ROLE OF THE ASSISTANT BUYER

The assistant buyer will support the sales director in the preparation of government bids, quotes, and procurement activities, including but not limited to the following tasks:
- Act as point of contact with suppliers and customers.
- Prepare and send RFQs to vendors, and follow-up for complete responses.
- Input prices, notes, part numbers and other details, and link images and attachments in ERP system.
- Discuss prices, payments terms and other details with suppliers.
- Prepare quotes and government bids, ensuring they are complete and sent on time.
- Communicate with customers regarding contract requirements and other clarifications.
- Support with research, collecting literature, and vendor and cost evaluation tasks.
- Organize files, manage emails, and respond to vendor and customer inquiries through phone or email.
- Update information and other ad hoc data entry
- Support team members as necessary post-bidding and contract award.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

- Post-secondary education preferred.
- Highly proficient in English, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of French is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Outlook and MS Office applications.
- Experience in Pentagon 2000 or an equivalent ERP is an asset.
- Previous experience in procurement and bidding or in the defence industry preferred.
- Independent and very well organized
- Highly attentive to details
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

NOTE: Due to necessity of remote work, candidates must have access to a reliable internet connection and adequate computer hardware.

The successful candidate must undergo a police record check and a controlled goods security assessment as a condition of employment. A probation period will also apply.
