Thursday August 27th from 1-4PM the staff at Mecca Glen will be at the school to greet any of our students that would like to come and bring their supplies in early rather than hauling them on the bus the first day, as well as meet their teacher and join us for an ice cream cone.

Well, I know it's hard to believe but we are quickly moving in on the start of school for the 2026 - 2026 school year. We hope that you have all had a wonderful and relaxing summer break. The staff is looking forward to seeing everyone back in about 2 1/2 weeks.

As noted in the June newsletter, we will be doing the staggered start again this year and having all students, last name ending in A-L, start Tuesday September 1 and all students, last names ending in L-M, start Wednesday September 2. ALL STUDENTS will then commence together starting Thursday September 3.

On August 27th from 1-4PM please feel free to bring your kiddos in to meet their teacher, drop their school supplies off in their lockers and enjoy an ice cream cone, as we provide a soft start to the year for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you all soon, but until then, enjoy

Mrs Nickersonā€™s grade 2/3ā€™s went on a camping trip today as well. Each student got to bring in supplies to make a fort/tent out of their desk and then they could work from inside their space. This made for a much quieter classroom šŸ˜Š
I was told Mrs Nickerson was the bear - a nice bear - but if you left your food or snacks out sheā€™d eat it šŸ˜‰
The end of the day was closed out with a real fire and snores - outdoors of course!
Thank you Mrs Nickerson for all you and Mrs Parsonā€™s do for the kiddos.

Today the grade 9 class went on a scavenger hunt to find the time capsule that they put together early last year with Ms Robinson.
After some pretty tough clues they were lead to the basement where the capsule was buried in the old dirt floor. Great fun was had by all. Thank you for the fun Mr Walker!

A huge congratulations to Mrs. Nickerson's Grade 2/3 class for raising the most money during Carnival for Kids at Mecca Glen School!
As a reward for their incredible fundraising efforts, they enjoyed a delicious pizza party generously donated by Boston Pizza Ponoka. Thank you for supporting our event and helping us celebrate these amazing students!
Way to go, Mrs. Nickerson's class, and thank you to everyone at Mecca Glen School for making Carnival for Kids such a success!

Today we celebrated some of our very appreciated volunteers. We enjoyed some sweet treats, prepared by a few staff members, coffee and tea and great conversation.

The students had made beautiful, thank you cards, as well as decorated the tablecloth with all sorts of messages of things and great pictures.

Thank you to our grade 9 class who helped serve today.

If we can ask one thing of you all as you leave Mecca Glen, remember that it takes volunteers to make communities thrive. So as you go out into the world, I hope that you too one day will remember the people that help make Mecca Glen School that it is and will offer your time to something that fills your cup. ļæ¼ā¤ļø

Without all of these volunteers, Mecca Glen wouldnā€™t be the school it is today.

A huge thank you to all of you and for those that couldnā€™t make it, we missed having you but please ļæ¼know that we appreciate you all ā¤ļø
