Port Alberni is welcoming back the first cruise ship to our harbour since 2019!! We are excited to welcome the return of The World, which last visited us in 2009, as you can see in these beautiful photos. ⛴️

✅Arrival: Saturday June 20th at 9:00am
⬅️Departure: Sunday June 21st at 23:00pm

🔭Best viewing spot to see it is the Alberni Lighthouse Marina, or out on Centennial Pier.
🚫Note: Please DO NOT come to the terminals as the area will be restricted.

This vessel is different from other cruise ships, it's a private residential cruise ship operated like a condominium complex, with 165 residences that can be purchased. Residents, from many countries, can live on board as it travels or hop on and off wherever they like.

Our members had a great day this past Saturday, participating in Port Day 2026 organized by Port Alberni Port Authority.
The public were able to tour our vessel, Alberni Responder. We had our brand new RCM SAR stickers and face tattoos available for the children as well.
Thanks all who attended and to the organizers!

🥳🎉 We did it!!!! HGTV's Home Town Takeover Canada has selected Port Alberni to be the star of season one!!🏆
And its all thanks to our community with a ♥️

Thank you to everyone who came to Harbour Quay today to show the world what makes Port Alberni so great- it’s people!

And our heartfelt appreciation to the talented folks behind the scenes who helped showcase our town along the way, from our first submission video to HGTV, to multiple town events… We’re broadcasting our community pride for all to see!

Home Town Takeover Canada will begin filming on June 10 (tomorrow!), and finish August 28, 2026.

Stay tuned to learn more about what this exciting project will bring Port Alberni, and get ready for the grand reveal when the show airs in fall, 2026!
