We remember those we’ve lost, and their family and friends whose lives have forever been altered.

We also recognize with gratitude local volunteers, community leaders, advocacy groups, health care workers and members of our own team who work every day to reduce the stigma associated with substance use. Please be kind to those who are hurting. 💜

The Port Alberni Community Action Team (CAT) invites our entire community to join us as we come together in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD).

This is a day to remember without stigma, support without judgment, and stand together as a community. 💜

Join us for an afternoon of connection, remembrance, community resources, food and refreshments, and activities for families and children.

💜 Honour and remember those we have lost
💜 Support those who are grieving
💜 Connect with local resources and services
💜 Recognize those who are living with, or recovering from, substance use
💜 Help reduce the stigma surrounding substance use and overdose

Whether you have been personally impacted, want to support someone you love, work within our community, or simply want to stand in solidarity — you are welcome.

There is a place for everyone at IOAD.

Come as you are. Bring your family. Bring your heart. And help us remember that every life matters. 💜

🚨AWESOME ALERT🚨 We’re excited to welcome our first volunteers to Seven Springs Farm in Nanoose! They did a fantastic job replacing the gate fence posts, and we can’t thank them enough! Our agriculture-based recovery communities rely on volunteers to help with farm operations and provide positive mentorship by working alongside our resident farm hands. Welcome to Seven Springs Farm, little ones! We’re proud to be taking another step toward revitalizing the agricultural land that Seven Springs Farm is located on, while contributing to local food security by providing fresh, locally raised eggs to our Nanoose and Parksville communities. Just as importantly, caring for the hens provides a rewarding and therapeutic routine for people in recovery, creating opportunities for connection, purpose, and meaningful work.
