Argyle construction update! The construction zone was recently expanded for the ongoing installation of new storm and water mains.

Crews are now working on both sides of the 5100 block between 1st and 2nd Avenues. The north side of Argyle Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues remains under construction, and the work is expected to continue for the next 2-3 weeks.

The intersections at 1st and 2nd Avenues are open, but access across 2nd Avenue is temporarily unavailable. New detours are posted and vehicles can use 2nd Avenue to travel eastbound and access storefronts.

Businesses remain open and parking is available throughout Uptown. Please use the new side street parking spots or one of the City’s parking lots located at 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue or off Kingsway Avenue.

There are minimal wait times at the moment… just be sure to enter through the Museum/Library entrance and bring two pieces of ID if you’re not sure if you’re already registered to vote!

Heads up - Traffic patterns on Argyle Street are changing this Monday October 19th!

As part of the continued Uptown revitalization efforts, the north side of Argyle Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue will be under construction while City crews install new storm and water mains.

During this time, westbound traffic (towards Harbour Quay) will be temporarily closed, but eastbound traffic on the other side of the road will remain open. Expect new directional signs and flaggers to be in place to assist with navigation.

Argyle Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues will also be re-opened as crews remove material from that area.

As always, businesses are open and parking remains available throughout Uptown. Use the new side street parking spots or one of the City’s parking lots located at 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue or off Kingsway Avenue.
