The Uchucklesaht Tribe is looking for fishers to take part in this (Dec – March) fishery targeting Chinook salmon. Fishers will be provided with an equal share of Uchucklesaht’s Tribe commercial allocation and are expected to follow the regulations outlined in the Incremental Community Based Economic Fishing Plan and Commercial License requirements, both of which will be shared prior to the start of the fishery.

Fishers and their vessels must be designated prior to the start of the commercial fishery.

We’re excited to welcome Rachel Melville, who has recently joined UTG as a mental health clinician.

Rachel is looking forward to connecting with the community and will be offering drop-in counselling (50-minute sessions) every Friday in January:

Please note that the Uchucklesaht Tribe Government Office will be closed for the holidays beginning Monday, December 22, 2025, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Attention ADSS High School Students!

We have four packages to give away to Uchucklesaht ADSS high school students. Each package includes one t-shirt and one tournament pass for the upcoming 70th Annual Totem Basketball Tournament, happening January 8–10, 2026!

If you are a Uchucklesaht ADSS high school student and would like to enter the draw for one of these packages, please email Christina Lucas in the Human Services Department at [email protected]
with your name, grade, and t-shirt size by 4:30 pm on December 18, 2025.

We will draw the names and distribute the t-shirts and passes before the tournament begins in the first week of the new year.

We’re excited to share that Nasuk Mahtii now has a fully equipped nursing room, complete with an exam table. This new space opens up more opportunities for patient exams, wound care, first aid, immunizations, and private one-on-one appointments in a quiet, confidential setting.

Our UTG Nurse will continue to visit Ehthlateese once a week or as needed, and with this new setup we can now welcome additional health treatments like physiotherapy and massage.

Important Announcement - Register or renew status card through FNHA.

The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) are partnering to make it easier for First Nations people in BC to register for Indian Status and apply for a Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) card.

The Uchucklesaht Tribe Government office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, for Remembrance Day.

We will reopen on Wednesday, November 12, at 8:30 AM.
