Port Clements is a small island community in British Columbia, located approximately 130 kilometers off the coast of Prince Rupert, and accessible from the mainland via a ferry trip or by small jet or float plane. The Port Clements Community Hall has been a center for many local & island wide events in Port Clements for decades, and continues to bring people together from all over QCI/Haida Gwaii
every year. Built circa 1940's this building is the great venue in Port Clements featuring a stage for performances and offers a full kitchen and bar facility for large functions. Incorporated under the Society Act in 2009 the Port Clements Community Hall Society is a group of volunteers who host events to enrich our community and raise funds for the repair & upkeep of the Community Hall. We host events ranging from local Fundraising Dances, co-sponsored QCI/Haida Gwaii Arts Council events, Artisans, Local Agricultural Fairs, Community Christmas Concerts, Swap 'n Shops,Craft Fairs & Family Dinners & Dances. The Hall has also been also been utilized for many years for private functions, including Wedding Receptions, Memorial Services, Birthday and Christmas Parties, and Multi-Community Meetings, Seminars and Training Courses. The members of the Community Hall Society are proud to keep our historic hall up and running for the better good of our island people. Over the past couple of decades our community has seen a reduction in population(now approx. 300 people). We at the society realize that the Community Hall plays and integral part in bringing the community people together not only in Port Clements but from every community on the islands. This is turn keeps us all healthy & connected. It is a place where everyone is welcome to come and interact together and in essence, also serves the purpose of a Cultural Meeting Place. We at the Community Hall Society hope to keep this historic hall living and breathing the spirit of our small community through it walls for many years to come!
