🗳️ Election Night at City Hall!

Residents are invited to join us in City Hall's Council Chambers on Monday, October 26, for a live viewing of the 2026 Municipal & School Board Election results!

📍 Location: City Hall, Council Chambers
🕗 Doors open: 8 p.m., when polls close

Watch the results come in as Port Colborne elects its next Mayor, City Councillors, and School Board Trustees.

Everyone is welcome! Please note that seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

WATER OPERATOR APPRECIATION DAY | Every day, the City’s water and wastewater operators work behind the scenes to monitor drinking water quality, maintain critical infrastructure, and uphold drinking water safety standards. 💧

Today, October 23, is Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Operator Appreciation Day, and we’re raising a glass (of tap water) to our water and wastewater operations team!

You might spot them testing a hydrant or repairing a watermain, but plenty of their work happens behind the scenes. Our operators:

💧 Collect routine water samples to help keep our drinking water safe
🚒 Test and maintain fire hydrants so they’re ready when needed
🔧 Respond to emergencies, including after-hours watermain breaks
⚙️ Inspect and maintain the City’s water distribution system
🖥️ Use specialized tools and technology to track down underground leaks

It’s physically demanding work, and emergencies don’t wait for convenient hours. Whatever the weather or time of day, our operators step up to keep essential services running.

Joining a citizen board or committee is a great way to get involved and offer your voice and valued skills in order to strengthen our shared sense of community.

The City of Port Colborne is accepting applications for positions on the following Boards/Committees:
- Committee of Adjustment
- Port Colborne Library Board
- *Downtown Business Improvement Area Board of Management
- *Main Street Business Improvement Area Board of Management
*Those applying to the Business Improvement Area (BIA) Boards must be persons who are assessed, on the last returned assessment roll, with respect to rateable property in the area that is in a prescribed business property class and any eligible tenants of such property.

FARMERS' MARKET 🧑‍🌾 🍎| There are only two Fridays left to shop local, stock up on fresh finds, and enjoy the Port Colborne Market before the season wraps up!

Congratulations to Nancy Salvage on receiving a 2025 !

Congratulations to Nancy Salvage of
City of Port Colborne on receiving a 2025 !

Nancy was recognized for being the driving force behind the Port Colborne Terry Fox Run. Since 2007, she has been raising significant funds and awareness for cancer research while uniting residents of all ages.

She even shaved her head in support of the cause. Beyond the run, Nancy has contributed to initiatives supporting arts, culture, health care, environmental stewardship, fair trade, and animal welfare.

40TH ANNIVERSARY 🏅| The City of Port Colborne was proud to present a 40th anniversary plaque recognizing the longstanding partnership between Special Olympics Port Colborne and the Port Colborne Bocce Club.

Since 1986, this partnership has helped create opportunities for athletes to participate, build friendships, develop their skills and experience the joy of sport in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Congratulations to both organizations on reaching this incredible milestone! Thank you for 40 years of dedication to sport, inclusion and community spirit in Port Colborne. Here’s to many more years of teamwork and success!
