On August 7th 2026 members of the Saugeen Shores Police Criminal Investigation Branch began a Drug Trafficking investigation in the town of Southampton. As a result, grounds were formed for the arrest of a 41-year-old male of Saugeen Shores.

On October 9th 2026 the male was located by officers in the Town of Southampton and placed under arrest. Search incident to arrest located a large amount of Canadian currency and an amount of methamphetamine.

As a result of this investigation the male has been charged with the following offences:

1) Traffick in Schedule 1 Substance x4
2) Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance
3) Poss of a Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking
4) Poss of Proceeds of Crime

The male has previous convictions in 2024 for Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He is being held in custody for a bail hearing on October 10th 2026.

On October 6th 2026 Saugeen Shores Police responded to a disturbance at a local apartment building. Investigation revealed that a 34-year-old female of Saugeen Shores was in breach of her previous Release Order and Probation Order. The female had fled the building prior to police arrival. A warrant for her arrest was issued.

On October 9th 2026 the female was located and arrested on the outstanding warrant. She is being held for a Bail Hearing on October 10th 2026.

Saugeen Shores Police took a report regarding a possible impaired driver in the Town of Port Elgin. Officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Market Street and Waterloo Street and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was asked to provide a sample of his breath which registered a FAIL. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Saugeen Shores Police station for further testing.

A search of the vehicle located several empty containers under the driver's seat as well as some freshly purchased alcohol on the front passenger floor.

As a result of this investigation a 47-year-old male of Port Elgin has been charged with Operation while Impaired (80+). His vehicle was impounded and his drivers licence has been suspended.

Don't drive impaired. If you suspect someone is operating a motor vehicle impaired by drug or alcohol please call 911.

On February 22nd 2026 Saugeen Shores Police took a report regarding a breach of Release Order. Through the investigation several other offences were disclosed. As a result an arrest warrant was put out for the accused as he was residing in another jurisdiction.

On October 1st 2026 a 36-year-old male of Etobicoke was arrested by Toronto Police Service. Saugeen Shores Police attended and took custody of the male. He was charged with the following offences:

1) Assault
2) Assault with a weapon
3) Criminal Harassment
4) Uttering Threats
5) Forcible Confinement
6) Failure to Comply with Release Order

He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing where he was released by the courts on a further Release Order.

On September 18th 2026 Saugeen Shores Police took a report regarding an assault. An arrest warrant was issued for the accused.

On October 1st 2026 officers located the male and the arrest warrant was executed. As a result a 43-year-old male of no fixed address was charged with several offences:

1) Assault with a weapon
2) Assault cause bodily harm
3) Uttering Threats
4) Choking
5) Failure to comply with Probation Order
6) Intimidation

He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing and was further remanded into custody.

On October 1st 2026 Saugeen Shores Police located a 14-year-old of Saugeen Shores who was failing to comply with his undertaking x2. He was out past a court ordered curfew and he was at a location he was not to attend.

He was placed under arrest and held in custody for a Bail Hearing. He was released on a Release Order by the courts.

On October 2nd 2026 at approximately 10:40pm Saugeen Shores Police conducted a pro-active traffic stop in the area of Elgin Street and Bricker Street. As a result of this stop a 48-year-old female of Port Elgin was issued a 7 day drivers licence suspension after providing a breath sample which registered between 0.05mg and 0.079mg of alcohol.

This is concerning as the location of the traffic stop was in close proximity to the Pumpkinfest fairgrounds.

On October 3rd 2026 at approximately 4:00am Saugeen Shores Police were dispatched to a wellbeing check in the Town of Port Elgin when an officer was assaulted while attempting de-escalation. As a result of this incident a 39-year-old male of Saugeen Shores was charged with Assault a Peace Officer and was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
