🔥Port Hardy, meet your local FireSmart team! 🔥

Leading the charge is Lionel Gunson, assistant fire chief and the longest-serving member of Port Hardy Fire Rescue. You might also recognize him from his other volunteer work around Port Hardy. Lionel brings decades of hands-on experience, local knowledge, unmatched fire safety knowledge and a strong dedication to keeping our community protected.

Joining him is our newest coordinator, Kayleigh Doan-Adams! Bring your enthusiasm when you meet her, she certainly does! In addition to being a recruit firefighter with Port Hardy Fire Rescue, Kayleigh works locally as a Care Aide at Eagle Ridge Manor. She is taking the lead on our firehall tours and youth educational events, while supporting all FireSmart initiatives across town.

Whether you see us out in the neighborhood, at the hall, or while we’re hosting an event, don't hesitate to say hello. We’re here to help keep Port Hardy safe, prepared, and resilient, reach out anytime with your FireSmart questions!
