All weather warnings for Nova Scotia have now ended.

This is welcome news and will allow municipal officials, emergency responders, and public works crews to continue assessing and repairing damage across the region.

However, it is important to note that the local State of Emergency remains in effect for Inverness, Richmond, and Victoria counties. Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid all non-essential travel while recovery efforts continue.

Crews remain on the ground identifying damaged infrastructure and carrying out repairs on roadways.

Some roads may still be impacted, and conditions can change quickly. Please continue to exercise caution, follow local advisories, and give space to emergency and repair crews working in affected areas.

Referred to the 511 NS map for road conditions and please report any areas that have not already been addressed.

A Municipal Support Line is open until 8pm for residents report non-emergency issues and concerns related to the current situation.

Flooding & Road Closure Update

A Local State of Emergency remains in effect for Inverness, Richmond, and Victoria Counties due to severe flooding and widespread damage.

Many roads remain closed as a result of flooding, washouts, and other storm-related damage. Conditions can change quickly, and some roads are unsafe for travel.

Before heading out, please check NS 511 for the latest information on road closures, detours, and highway conditions.

If you discover a road that has been damaged or is in a dangerous condition, you are encouraged to report it to the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works so it can be assessed as quickly as possible.

⚠️ Residents are being asked to stay off the roads unless travel is essential for health, safety, or emergency purposes. Please do not drive through floodwaters or around barricades.
