🐝 Operation BeeStrong 🐝

Members of the Port Hope Police Service attended the Operation BeeStrong orientation at Dancing Bee Equipment today.
The rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy a visit inside the hive and learn more about this incredible program.
Operation BeeStrong provides a unique opportunity for first responders, military members, and veterans to connect through beekeeping, mentorship, and wellness.
It was a great morning of learning, connection, and community engagement.

MEDIA RELEASE
Police Remind Residents to Lock Vehicles Following Multiple Overnight Entries

Police are reminding residents to take precautions to protect their property after responding to several reports of vehicle entries over the past 24 hours.

In many cases, vehicles were left unlocked, providing easy access for opportunistic thieves. Items commonly targeted include wallets, purses, cash, electronics, identification documents, garage door openers, and other valuables left inside vehicles.

Residents are encouraged to:

πŸ”’ Always lock vehicle doors, even when parked at home.
πŸ”‘ Remove keys and key fobs from vehicles.
πŸŽ’ Take valuables with you or store them out of sight.
🏠 Park in a well-lit area whenever possible.
πŸ“Ή Ensure home security cameras are functioning properly.
πŸ‘€ Report suspicious activity to police immediately.

Police continue to investigate these incidents and are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or who has security camera footage from the affected areas to contact police.

A few simple steps can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of theft. Police thank residents for their cooperation and vigilance in helping keep the community safe.

The program encourages young people to develop their leadership, communication, and entrepreneurial skills while building confidence and connections within the community. Chief Farquharson was inspired by the passion, innovation, and thoughtful ideas presented by the participants.

Thank you to Venture13 and all of the youth who took part in making this event such a success. The future is bright with leaders like these in our community.

From the youth market and parade to the music, dancing, and smiling faces throughout Memorial park, it was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
