Members of the Port Hope Police bundled up and braved the chilly temperatures today to participate in Kilometres for Kids, in support of Rebound Child & Youth Services!

Despite the cold, we kept moving and stayed warm along the 5 km route, all for a great cause!

It was wonderful to walk alongside our friends at the CobourgPolice and David Piccini, coming together to support local children, youth and families.

A big thank you to Rebound for organizing this fantastic event and for the incredible work they do in our community! 👏

The Port Hope Police Service would like to recognize the generosity of Northumberland United Way for their donation of grocery gift cards to our M-HEART Team.

These gift cards provide our officers and mental health partners with an additional resource to assist individuals and families experiencing hardship, helping address immediate needs during challenging times.

▫️Two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges after a police investigation led to the seizure of approximately $80,000 worth of suspected fentanyl, co***ne, and methamphetamine.

On October 14, 2026, as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking occurring in the Town of Cobourg and surrounding areas, members of the Cobourg Police Service (CPS) Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Port Hope Police Service and CPS Uniform Patrol, executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Port Hope.

As a result of the investigation, police seized the following:
• Approx. 162 g fentanyl
• Approx. 94 g co***ne
• Approx. 26 g crystal methamphetamine
• A knife and a collapsible baton
• Scales
• Cellphones
• Packaging materials
• Unmarked ci******es

The total street value of the drugs seized was approximately $80,000.

A Cobourg woman and a Port Hope man were arrested and charged. Both were held for bail.

The Port Hope Police Service is advising that the structure fire on Fenton Lane has been contained.

Port Hope Fire to remain on scene.

Fenton Lane is reopened for resident access and traffic.

Structure Fire in Port Hope

The Port Hope Police Service and Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services are currently on scene of an active structure fire on Fenton Lane in Port Hope.

Fenton Lane is currently closed at Strachan Road to allow emergency personnel to safely respond to the incident.

Police are asking motorists and members of the public to avoid the area and refrain from unnecessary travel in the immediate vicinity to ensure emergency crews can carry out their duties safely and without obstruction.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation.

Our Thanksgiving food drive brought approximately two tons of fresh vegetables and fruit to Fair Share Food Bank!

Traffic Initiative Results in Stunt Driving Charge

On October 3, 2026, Port Hope Police officers conducting a traffic enforcement initiative on Peter Street, just west of Hamilton Road, have charged one individual with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

During the initiative, officers observed a vehicle travelling at 91 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone, after just exiting a community safety zone. The driver was subsequently charged with stunt driving.

Port Hope Police remind all motorists that excessive speed puts everyone at risk and that traffic laws are in place to help keep roadways safe for all users.

Port Hope Police continue to conduct proactive traffic enforcement initiatives throughout the community and remind motorists to stay safe on the roadways and obey all traffic and speed signs.
