🚧 Traffic Alert: On Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 7am to 3pm, the bike lane, right lane, and centre lane on northbound Ioco Road between Barnet Highway and Suter Brook Way will be closed intermittently, reducing traffic to one northbound lane at times during scheduled concrete pours for the Inlet District.

Ongoing work: Similar intermittent lane closures will continue weekdays until September 25, 2026, between 9am and 3pm. The bike lane and right lane on northbound Ioco Road, as well as the east sidewalk between Barnet Highway and Suter Brook Way, may be affected. The following impacts will be in effect:

• A temporary bike pathway will be provided for cyclists
• The Inlet Centre Station @ Bay 2 bus stop (Stop ID 61988) may be closed during construction. Transit riders will be redirected to the nearest open stop
• The crosswalk at Suter Brook Way and Ioco Road will remain open
• Driveway and business access will be maintained

Expect traffic delays. Traffic control personnel will be on site to assist motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. For information on City roadworks and construction projects, visit: https://portmoody.ca/roadwork

A reminder that Stage 2 water restrictions continue through August 31, with Stage 1 restrictions beginning September 1.

On September 1, water restrictions will move from Stage 2 to Stage 1 in Metro Vancouver, allowing lawn watering one morning per week for all residential and non-residential properties.

The upgraded 5 to 12-year-old playground at Art Wilkinson Park (492 Glencoe Drive) is ready for play! The project included replacing aging playground equipment, adding a new disc net climbing structure, and installing rubberized surfacing to create more opportunities for climbing, exploring, and active play.

Funded in part through the Tire Stewardship BC Community Grant program, the project also supports sustainability goals. The new rubberized surfacing includes materials made from recycled tires sourced in BC, helping give new life to used tires while creating a safer, more accessible play space for the community.
