Proudly serving Anmore and Belcarra since 1978, the SVFD's 42 members respond to all fire service calls in the two municipalities.

The wildfire that began on August 5 at təmtəmíxʷtən/Belcarra Regional Park is now officially out and nearby trails are open to the public. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Thanks to the efforts of all agencies that responded last week, the fire’s spread was limited and the impact on the community and regional park were minimized.

EVACUATION ALERT FOR 35 PROPERTIES RESCINDED.

The Wildfire V11470 Evacuation Alert issued by the Village of Anmore on August 5, 2026 at 19:30 hours related to the fire in and near təmtəmíxʷtən/Belcarra Regional Park has been rescinded/cancelled due to the updated status of the fire response and reduced risks to life and safety.

If a future Evacuation Alert or Order is issued, the Evacuation Alert/Order process will re-commence.

The Evacuation Alert has been rescinded/cancelled from the following properties:
• Along Fern Drive, North of Magnolia Way (Fern drive addresses: 230, 145, 147, 220, 210, 200, 131, 2880, 2885, 2887, 2871, 2910, 2890, 2911, 2918, 2917, 2926, 2919, 2932, 2936, 2940, 2923)
• Along Oak Court (Oak Court addresses: 143, 141, 139, 137, 135, 133)
• Properties northeast along Crystal Creek Drive (Crystal Creek Drive addresses: 1455, 1451, 1445, 1429, 1421, 1403).

For further clarity, the tactical evacuation of the two properties on Fern Drive is also rescinded.

EVACUATION ALERT FOR 35 PROPERTIES.

An Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Village of Anmore. The Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department has recommended this Alert due to the potential danger to life and health caused by a wildfire in Belcarra Regional Park (Wildfire V11470).

The Wildfire V11470 Evacuation Alert #1 area applies to properties:

- Along Fern Drive, North of Magnolia Way (Fern drive addresses: 230, 145, 147, 220, 210, 200, 131, 2880, 2885, 2887, 2871, 2910, 2890, 2911, 2918, 2917, 2926, 2919, 2932, 2936, 2940, 2923)

- Along Oak Court (Oak Court addresses: 143, 141, 139, 137, 135, 133)

- Properties northeast along Crystal Creek Drive (Crystal Creek Drive addresses: 1455, 1451, 1445, 1429, 1421, 1403)

This is the time to GET PREPARED to leave your home on short notice.

An Evacuation Alert is issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

- Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area in case an Evacuation Order is called while you are separated.

- Pack essential items for a quick departure, such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g., insurance, passports, birth certificates, banking and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents, cellphone and charger and, if time and space permits, personal keepsakes.

- Prepare to move people with disabilities, children and neighbours if assistance is needed.

- Prepare to take pets and pet care items (leash, carrier, food) with you.

- Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.

- Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence in one vehicle, if possible.

Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating. Monitor anmore.com for information on evacuation orders and location of Reception Centres and hours of operation.

⚠️ FIRE BAN IN EFFECT ⚠️

An Open Burning Ban has been issued for our community effective at NOON TODAY July 16, 2026. All campfires in Anmore and Belcarra are prohibited.

All open fires are prohibited, including campfires and outdoor wood-burning appliance fires.

This decision is based on current fire hazard conditions and long-term forecasts, and aligns with the Coastal Fire Centre’s ban across the southern coast of the province.
