PCSL is highly sensitive to each individual’s developmental, physical and intellectual abilities and we strive to work within these individual’s capacities, while encouraging a sense of self- worth and autonomy. Areas of support and teaching include health and safety, community access, money management, nutrition, problem-solving, relationship-building and other aspects of daily living. Our goal is to do the above
as part of a comprehensive network of support. All our residential services focus on community inclusion, a premise that is highlighted in our support of individuals who reside within the home of a non-natural family. We strongly believe that all humans thrive and grow when they are welcomed as part of a community that exists outside of their home; this growth continues as they acquire skills and abilities that provide safe and rewarding challenges that can be mastered with experience, support and encouragement.
