The Town of Portugal Cove - St. Philip's

The Town of Portugal Cove - St. Philip's Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s is a growing modern town in a rural coastal setting. Philip’s is a growing modern town in rural Newfoundland and Labrador.

We are close to St. John’s, but separate enough to offer a quiet and rich existence on the edge of the Atlantic. Families and businesses are growing, and life is good. Better yet, we’re surrounded by jaw-dropping coastline and hundreds of years of history and folklore

This page is a forum for information and dialogue with our residents and visitors. We encourage people, community groups and busin

esses to submit photos, promote their events and celebrate our community together. Our goal is to create a positive environment for us all to gather and create an online community as rich as our real one.

We’ve been making great progress on the rollout of our automated garbage bins!🚛

Bins are currently being delivered to households along the Thursday route, and we ask that those with the bins, to begin using them on your next scheduled collection day. You can find information on how to correctly place your bin in our updated automated garbage guide on our website here, https://pcsp.ca/services/garbage-recycling/. You can also find information on what can go in the cart, how to contact Public Works, and more.

Deliveries for remaining routes continue weekly as weather and daily operations allow. Bins will be left at the end of your driveway with a physical copy of the automated garbage guide attached to the inside of the lid, you don’t need to be home to accept the bin!

Thank you for your patience as we work to roll out the new service. If you have any questions, please contact Public Works by calling 709-895-8000 ext. 228 or by emailing [email protected].
