Prescott, Ontario (Official)

Prescott, Ontario (Official) Thanks to Prescott's fantastic small-town quality of life right in the middle of it all, we have a lot to offer both long-time residents and newcomers.

Prescott is a historic Canadian Loyalist town with roots extending back to 1784, located on the scenic St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario. Friendly people, heritage homes, and an outstanding location at the junction of Hwys. 401 and 416 and the Prescott-Ogdensburg International Bridge to New York State make Prescott a great location for new residents and businesses. We are your gateway to Canada!

This is Prescott!

June is Recreation and Parks Month, and here in Prescott, recreation is more than programs and parks, it’s part of who we are.

From early mornings at the arena to sunsets along the St. Lawrence… from children laughing at the splash pad to neighbours connecting on trails, courts, beaches, playgrounds, and new spaces like the Seymour Recreation Complex, recreation brings our community together every day.

In this historic town, these are the spaces where memories are made:
🛝First trips to the playground
⛸️First skates
🏖️Summer beach days
🏆Friendly competitions
🚶‍♂️Evening walks
🤝Community connection

Behind every clean park, maintained facility, and welcoming space is a team of dedicated staff who care deeply about Prescott and the people who call it home.

This month, we celebrate the spaces and the people that make recreation such an important part of life in Prescott.

⚠️NOTICE OF SERVICE DISRUPTION⚠️

Due to unfolding traffic incidents on both Highway 2 and the 401, Brockville Transit has made the decision to temporarily pause the River Route service between Brockville and Cardinal effective immediately.

Earlier today, a tractor trailer accident closed Highway 2, our primary corridor. While attempting to detour via the 401, an additional accident has made it unsafe and impractical to maintain scheduled service.

As a result, the River Route will be suspended until Highway 2 reopens and it is safe to resume reliable service.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we prioritize passenger and operator safety. Updates will be provided as soon as service can resume.

📣 An important update regarding River Route service for June 2, 2026.
