Today is World Caring Day.

Today highlights kindness, empathy, and support.

Take a minute, or a few, to recognize those around you who care.

Also take a moment to recognize the way you care for others and give yourself a pat on the back.

Online child sexual abuse can happen anywhere—through social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps, and other online spaces. It often involves grooming, manipulation, threats, or the sharing of harmful images and content.

Prevention starts with open conversations, education, and creating safe spaces where children and youth feel comfortable asking for help.

As a community, we all play a role in protecting children online by promoting digital safety, recognizing warning signs, and supporting survivors with compassion and care.

If you or someone you know needs support, Prince Albert Sexual Assault Centre is here to help.

Happiness isn’t just a feeling — it’s chemistry 🧠✨

Your brain has four key “feel good” hormones:

💥 Endorphins – boosted by exercise, laughter, even a warm bath
☀️ Serotonin – supported by sunlight, fruit, and nourishing your body
🤍 Oxytocin – built through hugs, connection, and time with animals
⚡ Dopamine – sparked by music, self-care, and small rewarding moments

Even simple things like cocoa, honey, or a slice of watermelon can give your brain a gentle lift 🍫🍯🍉

You don’t need a complete life overhaul — just small, intentional moments 💛

Happy Pride Month! 🌈

June is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and joy of 2SLGBTQ+ communities — and it’s also a powerful opportunity to step into allyship.

Think of allyship like being a superhero sidekick for justice. 🦸‍♀️ It’s about showing up, speaking out, and using your own power-ups to support inclusion and equity for marginalized folks. It’s not about standing on the sidelines or throwing a pity party — it’s about rolling up your sleeves and taking action to challenge oppression and help build a safer, more vibrant world for everyone.

At the Prince Albert Sexual Assault Centre, we recognize that members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community can face increased risks of violence and barriers to support. Allyship means listening, believing, and advocating — every day, not just in June.

Let’s celebrate, uplift, and stand together. 🌈💜

June is here! A time of warmth, connection, and community. It’s also a reminder that healing and support don’t take a season off.

As we move into summer, it’s important to recognize that experiences of sexual violence can affect individuals at any time of year. For many, longer days and increased social gatherings can bring both opportunities for connection and moments of vulnerability.

Support matters; and it’s always available.

If you or someone you know is navigating the impacts of sexual violence, the Prince Albert Sexual Assault Centre is here to provide confidential, compassionate care. You don’t have to go through it alone.

This June, let’s continue to foster communities rooted in respect, consent, and support.

As we close out Sexual Violence Prevention Month, we want to leave you with a reminder:

Creating safer communities is not the responsibility of one person, one organization, or one system. It happens when we work together through connection, education, awareness, and teamwork.

Prevention begins with conversations. It grows through understanding. It is strengthened when communities come together to support survivors, challenge harmful attitudes, and create environments where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.

Throughout this month, we have shared information, resources, and messages aimed at increasing awareness and encouraging action. While Sexual Violence Prevention Month may be coming to an end, the work of prevention continues every day.

Thank you to our community members, partners, schools, organizations, and supporters who are helping build a safer future for everyone.

Together, we can create communities where respect is the standard, consent is understood, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Today, we had the privilege of attending the Prince Albert Heart of the Youth Pow Wow and witnessing the strength, pride, talent, and culture that filled the grounds.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, Elders, dancers, drummers, volunteers, families, and community members who came together to make this event such a success. Events like these create opportunities for youth to connect with culture, build community, and celebrate who they are.

The Heart of the Youth Pow Wow continues to be an important gathering in Prince Albert, bringing people, especially our young people, together through tradition, respect, and belonging.

As this year’s event comes to a close, excitement is already building for next year, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the Heart of the Youth Pow Wow. What an incredible milestone and testament to the dedication of everyone who has helped make this event possible over the years.

Congratulations on another wonderful year…we can’t wait to celebrate 10 years with you in 2027.

The logo for Sexual Violence Prevention Month (SVPM) features the Lotus Flower, a symbol of strength and resilience that came to us through a survivor of sexual violence.

The lotus flower grows through murky, muddy waters, and still turns out beautiful. Much like a lotus flower, survivors must navigate the murky mud of challenging systemic conditions and obstacles during their healing journey. This strength and beauty, despite adversity, is a hopeful symbol.

Including the lotus in the SVPM logo is a reinforcement that survivors’ courageous spirits are at the centre of prevention efforts. Sexual Violence Prevention Month is our commitment to advocating for the societal and systemic conditions necessary to prevent violence before it begins.

Blue Jean Jacket Day was created to raise awareness for young Indigenous men, boys, and two-spirit people who may not be recognized as survivors of violence, human trafficking, and exploitation.

We invite you to share this post to raise awareness.
