Remember this number: 9-8-8.

It’s Canada’s Su***de Crisis Helpline. Anyone in Canada can call or text 24/7 for confidential support from a trained responder.

Remember it, just in case.

Each September, World Su***de Prevention Month offers us space to reflect on what makes prevention possible: connection, compassion, and a shared sense of responsibility. It’s a time to raise awareness, break the stigma around mental health, and remind everyone that help is always available.

Let’s talk. Let’s listen. Let’s support each other.
Together, we can save lives.

Self-care isn’t always soft or soothing—it’s often gritty, honest work. It’s showing up for yourself when things feel overwhelming. It’s setting boundaries, asking for help, going to therapy, getting enough sleep, and learning to say no. Real self-care means tending to your needs in both the hard seasons and the good ones, and choosing growth even when it’s uncomfortable. It's not just comfort—it's commitment.

It takes work. But you're worth that work. đź’ś

Not all violence is physical. These behaviors can also be forms of IPV:

• Unwanted and repeated texts or phone calls.
• Non-consensual touching, kissing or sexual activity.
• Sharing intimate photos without permission.
• Following, tracking or repeatedly showing up uninvited, at your home, workplace or school.
• Threatening, coercing or blackmailing.
• Stealing money or personal belongings.
• Damaging property.

If you or someone you know is experiencing dating violence, call 310-RCMP to report it to police. In an emergency, always call 911.
