Another year has come and gone and we are once again celebrating those that have worked at NCTS for five years! We are grateful for the time and care each one puts into supporting the ideal of a safer community for everyone. Please help us celebrate them. ❤️

Today we are thinking of Lisa Stewart and her family. For two years, Lisa worked for NCTS until being sick made it too difficult.

Lisa revamped the Supportive Recovery Program for women wanting to modify their addiction lifestyles. She was always looking for ways to make things work and reduce barriers for women wanting to make positive changes in their lives. One would always find Lisa chatting away with the women in the Transition House.

Lisa was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her smile radiated so much warmth and care. It was comforting and safe to be with her.

At NCTS, we send Lisa’s family and friends our deepest condolences for their enormous loss. We wish peace for all. Rest in sweet peace Lisa. You will always be with us. ❤️

It was a perfect Diana Lake Day for 1/4 (someone always has to work) of the NCTS team. ❤️

After fifteen years with NCTS and a lifetime of always working, Edith has decided it's time to retire at the age of 75!

Edith was a support worker in the Raven's Keep Transition House. She was instrumental in providing training for new hires and keeping the THouse running smoothly - she was famous for her "list" that she would review with managers.

She provided amazing compassionate support to all the women and children who came to stay there. One could always find Edith in the dining room having tea or coffee and chatting away with the women.

When long-term team members move on, it is always felt deeply. They carry lots of knowledge, experience and stories with them. We wish Edith nothing but the best and miss her hugely already.

(If you have any messages you would like passed on to Edith, please email them to [email protected] or post below and we will make sure she gets them as she does not have Facebook.)

Two things!
1. Spring has sprung! We are loving our early blooms. Thank you to our gardener. We have never had such nice gardens and look forward to seeing what grows.
2. Congratulations to a special person celebrating five months sobriety today. Your courage and strength is unmatched. It’s a hard road and yet you just keep on trotting. ❤️
