Blair Mirau

Blair Mirau Born-and-raised Rupertite, former City Councillor, passionate economic development professional. Blair was also recognized as a Top 30 Under 30 by BC Business.

Blair Mirau is a born-and-raised Rupertite and Rainmaker alumni who has served on Prince Rupert City Council from 2014 - 2022. Before getting elected, Blair has been working with the Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Society since 2013, promoted to CEO in 2016. Under his leadership, the organization created an economic development corporation which has since grown to 39 employees and was awarded the 2021 Indi

genous Community-Owned Business of the Year for the acquisitions of Bob's on the Rocks and the Port Ed Store. Prior to his work with the local Nisga'a, Blair was the grant writer at City Hall here he successfully solicited over $1 million. His work on the Cow Bay Marina won the World Proposal Championships in 2012. He holds a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Royal Roads University, and a Bachelor's degree in International Development from the University of Winnipeg.
