Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue - Station 64 Prince Rupert Station 64 Prince Rupert is a part of RCM-SAR. We are one of the most northern marine rescue locations on the BC coast. We are on call 24/7/365 Interior.

We are the charity that saves lives on the water. Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer organization that operates more than 40 marine rescue stations on the British Columbia coast and in the B.C. From Vancouver’s busy harbour to the remote waters of the North Coast, our volunteer crews are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to marine emergencies. We are a key part of the marine search and rescue system, and we work in one of the most challenging search and rescue regions in the world. Our volunteers handle more than 800 marine emergencies every year. They stand ready to leave their jobs and their families on a moment’s notice to help people in trouble on the water – no matter how foul the weather or how rough the seas. Our crews are highly trained, and equipped with specialized rescue vessels designed for the challenges of the West Coast.

As we recognize Safe Boating Awareness Week, we’re proud to highlight the Prince Rupert Marine Rescue Society’s Kids Don’t Float program, which provides free, temporary access to lifejackets, also known as Personal floatation Devices (PFDs), for children aged six months to 16 years. This volunteer-driven initiative operates on an honour system and helps families stay safe while enjoying the water.
