Mandatory Boil Water Advisory in Mistissini - Effective Immediately

An external laboratory where we send local water samples has detected presence of enterocoques bacteria in the water system and further testing will be done and samples will be sent to the laboratory for further analysis. A Mandatory Boil Water Advisory is being issued.

All residents are asked to boil tap water for at least 2 minutes before using it for:
* Drinking
* Cooking
* Brushing teeth
* Making baby formula or drinks
* Washing fruits & vegetables
* Making ice
* Soup, tea, or coffee

DO NOT drink from public fountains or connected appliances like soda machines, water dispensers, or coffee makers.

You can still use tap water for:
* Handwashing
* Washing dishes
* Laundry
* Bathing (except infants & toddlers - sponge bathe them)

In loving memory of Pat Awashish Blacksmith beloved wife of Norman Blacksmith.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Sports Complex.

A memorial meal will follow at 5PM at the Sports Complex.

The community members are asked to donate cooked food and deliver it to the Sports Complex by 3PM.

Chief and Council and the entire Administration extend their sincere condolences to the Blacksmith and Awashish families. Please continue to keep the families in your prayers.

The Cree Nation of Mistissini Yard Cleaning Contest. Participate for a chance to win a pair of hockey tickets to Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final in Montreal.

Note: The winner is responsible for covering their own transportation and accommodations cost.

HOW TO ENTER:
• Clean up your yard and surrounding area
• Take BEFORE & AFTER photos

CONTEST RULES:
• One entry per household
• Open to Mistissini residents only
• Anyone who has already cleaned their yard can still submit a photo of it
