Native de Saint-Alexis-de-Matapédia , Patricia Gallant a grandi sur une ferme, entourée de nombreux stimuli et avec une attirance profonde pour tout ce qui touche à la nature. Cette sensibilité l’a menée vers une formation en horticulture, puis à une carrière de 37 ans aux Jardins de Métis, dont 23 d'entre elles en tant qu'horticultrice en chef. Ayant une forte tendance à la paréidolie, cette capacité à percevoir des formes familières dans des éléments aléatoires, elle découvre dans ces images un univers où les images surgissent.

L'imaginaire de Patricia Gallant consiste à explorer de nouvelles façons de présenter la photographie et à expérimenter les possibilités d’une image imprimée qui dépasse le cadre traditionnel. Lors de sa résidence, elle poursuit ses recherches autour de la photographie de glace en développant des dispositifs où l’image pourra être observée, manipulée et découverte autrement, notamment à travers un travail sur la notion de l’échelle.

La présentation du projet se tiendra ce samedi le 22 août, dès 11h, où buffet et boissons seront servies.

A native of Saint-Alexis-de-Matapédia, Patricia Gallant grew up on a farm, surrounded by a wealth of experiences and with a deep love for all things related to nature. This sensitivity led her to pursue training in horticulture, followed by a 37-year career at the Jardins de Métis, 23 of which she spent as head horticulturist. With a strong tendency toward pareidolia—the ability to perceive familiar shapes in random elements—she discovers in these images a world where images emerge.

Patricia Gallant’s vision centers on exploring new ways to present photography and experimenting with the possibilities of a printed image that goes beyond the traditional frame. During her residency, she is continuing her research into ice photography by developing installations where the image can be viewed, handled, and discovered in new ways, particularly through an exploration of the concept of scale.

The project presentation will take place this Saturday, August 22, starting at 11 a.m., a buffet and drinks will be served.
