All Town flags have been lowered to half-mast in honour of the Canadian Armed Forces members who died following the tragic fire at a military base near Wainwright, Alberta on October 17, 2026.

Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and colleagues of those who lost their lives, those injured, and the wider military community.

We join Canadians in mourning this loss and honouring the dedication and sacrifice of those who serve in our Armed Forces.

The official 2026 Election results have now been declared following a final review of the ballot counts.

Voter turnout this year was 55.36%, up from 52.53% in 2022.

The incoming Mayor and Council will be sworn in at the Inaugural Council Meeting. The Meeting will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, 7 pm at the Civic Centre, 747 Jones Street, Qualicum Beach, followed by a short reception.

The preliminary results for the 2026 General Local Election are here! Congratulations to the Town's 2026-2030 Council, Mayor Adam Walker and Councillors Donald Couzens, Scott Harrison, Mischa Oak, and Anne Skipsey. Thank you to all our candidates for participating, and to those who voted.

A total of 4,733 electors cast their ballots during the election.

Voting is NOW OPEN! This is last day to vote - Oct 17. Come to the Civic Centre between 8 m and 8 pm to cast your ballot!

🔆 If you are registering to vote for the first time, bring TWO pieces of ID that show your name and address (one with a signature).
🔆 If you need help completing your ballot because of a disability or challenge with reading or writing, you can bring a helper or our staff can help.
🔆Curbside voting is available if needed. Just call the number on display in the parking lot or get your helper to seek out the Election Officer inside the building.
🔆 Only registered service animals are permitted at the polling stations.
