Joanie has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters (Quesnel) for 28 years . She started off as an employee and now she is the Executive Director. Everybody knows that when they hear the name Joanie that she is automatically known as Joanie from BBBS. Joanie has an incredible passion for this organization and puts in countless hours in fundraising ideas, networking, reports, Matching Bigs with Littles, promoting BBBS. There are currently 8 matches of Bigs and Littles and there are 22 kids on the waitlists. All kids are invited on outings where they get to experience arts, crafts, movies, skating, swimming, hockey games, petting zoos and many more adventures that they may not get to experience otherwise. For all those events Joanie is setting them up and is there for our little people in our community. Joanie also assists with mentoring programs through BBBS such as Go Girls, Teen Mentoring through the School District.The impact that Big Brothers Big Sisters (Quesnel) has on our youth is it provides consistent , supportive relationships , better mental and emotional well-being, improved social skills which in turn guides them into adulthood as positive role models. Joanie also belongs to other agencies in Quesnel that give back to our community.
