Luttmer Leatherworks is getting going for the winter season. Get your Christmas orders in early to ensure they're ready in time, and if you have saddles or tack that are in need of repair before spring time give us a shout. We can meet people in town to pick up saddles and tack, and bring them back in when they are done. We're going to be at the Cariboo Christmas Market on November 26+27 as well. We'll have some items made up to sell, and will also be taking orders for Christmas. Messenger us, or give us a call at 250 249-9613.

This is a saddle from a reputable saddle maker that we have in for repairs right now. As you can see by the pictures, it had a nail sticking out the bottom between the tree and the saddle skirt. It looks like it was pushed out the bottom when the person originally building the saddle put a screw in. They just happened to put a screw in right where there happened to be a nail in the saddle tree. This saddle is probably around 45 years old or so, and has been used this whole time like this on many different horses. It doesn't look like it ever poked through the saddle skirt, but it would have been a lump there that would have caused pressure. Just goes to show you never know what might be lurking on the bottom of your saddle......
