We are so fortunate to have Barb leading our card-making activity at the Senior Depot. She gives so generously of her time, creativity, and dedication, and we truly appreciate all the work she puts into making this activity so special.

A wonderful time was had by all at the Strawberry Shortcake Social and Senior Co****le Tournament during Railroad Days!

It was a great turnout, with everyone enjoying delicious strawberry shortcake, friendly competition, and, most importantly, the chance to spend time together visiting with friends and neighbors. The laughter, smiles, and community spirit made for a memorable day.

Thank you to everyone who came out to participate and help make the event such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

🌞 July Activities at the Senior Centre 🌞

Our new activity calendar is here! We invite everyone to stop by the Depot to see what’s planned and sign up for the activities that interest you.

We’re also looking for community members who would like to share a hobby, skill, or special interest by leading an activity. Whether it’s crafts, games, exercise, music, discussion groups, or something completely new — we’d love to hear your ideas!

What a wonderful morning at our Garden Workshop! 🌸🌱
Our seniors enjoyed learning how to plant and care for flowers while creating a few beautiful flower pots of their own to take home and enjoy. The workshop was designed not only to support seniors’ wellbeing, connection, and creativity, but also to teach helpful gardening skills and build confidence in caring for plants. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and lovely comments about how relaxing and uplifting the morning was.
We were especially grateful to have a university student home for the summer volunteer her day off to spend time helping our seniors. She assisted with the setup and cleanup, helped with the planting tasks, and took the time to visit and connect with everyone. Her kindness, patience, and willingness to give back to the community were truly appreciated by all. The intergenerational connection added so much to the event and brought an extra warmth and joy to the morning. 💚
A good time was had by all, and we can’t wait to watch those flowers bloom throughout our community! 🌼
