The Friends of Rainy River Library need your help! They have to move all the donated books to a new location. It isn't a far move. If you have an hour to give please meet the Friends at 9am this Saturday (tomorrow) in front of the Library. Thanks in advance!

Thanks to our community's generous donations, the Can & Bottle Drive Fundraiser has raised over $600 for the library so far. We are incredibly grateful for the support and are happy to share the next drop-off dates! If you haven't been recycling your empty alcohol containers, here is an easy and beneficial option to recycle locally while supporting your not-for-profit public library. 💛

A note to our patrons: Libby will be requiring PINs soon along with your library card number. You can change your PIN on our website www.rainypubliclibrary.ca - go to our Online Catalogue and try to log in, then click "Forgot my PIN". It will prompt you to enter your library card number. The system will send instructions to reset your PIN to the email on file.
If you have any issues trying to set up your PIN, please contact the library and we will assist you!

📚 We’re building a list of ways to be for the upcoming Ontario Public Library Week!

Being loud for your library can look like:

📖 Checking out materials

✔️ Attending programs

🗳️ Voting for candidates who support the library (Meet the Candidates Night for the Town of Rainy River elections is at 7:00pm today at the Rec Centre!)

💌 Participating in fundraisers

❤️ Sharing your love on social media

🗣️ Applying to be a member of the Library Board

What would you add to the list? How do you show up for your library? 💬

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day.
We honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never came home, and recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous families and communities.
At the Rainy River Public Library, we strongly believe that education is an important part of reconciliation.
The library has an Indigenous collection that provides opportunities to learn about the history and impact of residential schools, as well as Indigenous perspectives. We are committed to continue adding to the collection and featuring books by Indigenous authors all throughout the year.
