On Red Dress Day, we honor the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people. The red dress serves as a powerful symbol of those who are no longer here and those whose stories must never be forgotten.
We stand in solidarity with families, survivors, and communities, and we remain committed to listening, learning, and supporting meaningful change. ❤️

Today, June 21st, is National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada. For many generations, Indigenous peoples and groups have been celebrating their heritage on June 21st or around this time of year because of the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year. Today, and everyday, is a time for reconciliation and reflection for the contributions that Indigenous peoples have had, and continue to have in Canada.

April 27- May 3 is National Volunteer Week in Alberta. We would like to give a HUGE shoutout to our dedicated volunteers here at Red Deer Victim Services! We would not be able to provide the services and supports that we do without our volunteers. We currently have a total of 14 compassionate women and men of the community who dedicate countless hours to support victims of crime. A big thank you for all that you do!

Today, February 26th is Pink Shirt Day in Canada. Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when a student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. It has since been recognized worldwide as a day to stand against bullying. Pink Shirt Day encourages everyone to be inclusive, kind, and supportive of one another.
