Building a safe, kind, and supportive school environment is a team effort! 💙

We had a fantastic meeting with two wonderful representatives from the team. They walked our team through the core WITS framework, implementation steps, and the amazing ongoing supports available for our students.

Whether it's learning to Walk away, Ignore, Talk it out, or Seek help, we are excited to reinforce these lifelong social-emotional skills across our classrooms this year.

🍂 Our adventurous kindergarteners explored the school forest and discovered what fall looks, feels, sounds and smells like! 🍁 We had so much fun using four of our senses to explore the wonders of autumn!

For Ashley Crosby, a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Normandeau School, helping children fall in love with learning starts with making sure every child feels safe, respected and valued.

Took advantage of dress-up day yesterday to teach our Kinders how to properly pet a puppy, why we NEVER pull on their tails or ears, and how to get them to follow commands! 🐾

🥕🍲 Harvest Soup Day was a HUGE success!

We are so thankful for our amazing school community! A big thank you to our Garden Club for planting and harvesting the veggies from our school garden, our Foods classes and Hope Mission for helping prepare the delicious soup, and our incredible volunteers and staff who delivered soup to every classroom and helped with cleanup! 🧡

Two dozen Grade 8 students from Normandeau School and Escuela Vista Grande put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work during a hands-on technology camp at Red Deer Polytechnic, exploring new interests while developing practical skills they can carry into life beyond school.
