I want to apologize for not getting my latest YouTube episode up. I have has some technical difficulties but I think I have it all sorted out now and will have new content posted after the weekend. I also will be doing my first YouTube version of Base Camp X Food P**n ( Smoked Pork Belly ). In the meantime come visit me tomorrow night at the Red Deer Folk Festival. It's been moved to the Red Deer resort and Casino Event Center. I'll be slinging drinks and spreading the good time vibes!!

Today I YouTubed how to spatchcock a whole chicken. It now bathes in a brine of my own creation. In a couple of hours it will nap peacefully on my smoker on 225 until it reaches 158 internal. At which point I will calmly, gently and almost sexually glaze it with a BBQ sauce made from a crabapple jelly a friend gave me, Meat Church BBQ Holy Gospel, honey and some delicious Motley Que Sticky Fixx sauce I had laying around. I will pull it, then pull it, then pull it more. This chickens afterlife will indeed be AMAZING!!

On August 7, all are welcome to join us at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre from 4-6 p.m. for the First Friday event for Nature Alberta's exhibit: Nature-Inspired Community Art.

Nature Alberta has empowered people of all walks of life to connect to nature through art in a variety of unique community art projects. The positive energy beaming through the artwork created by hundreds of artists truly embodies Nature Alberta’s Community Connected by a Love of Nature.

Show runs July 7 to September 20, 2026.

Hey everyone. Asking my friends and family to quickly rip over to my YouTube channel and give it a like and subscribe. I've been working daily on editing and content so I can post weekly videos that showcase not only all the amazing things that nature has to offer. But I'll have other videos I plan on doing like "After The Trail" featuring amazing local and not local places to eat and drink after a long day on the trail. I also plan on expanding "Base Camp X Food P**n" where I will share my delicious smoker recipes and goodies I like to make. I'm still working really hard to learn how to effectively use my new editing program and each video get better than my last. I would be forever grateful for the support.

Big things are buzzing on the roof of Parkland Mall! 🐝

Did you know we work with Alvéole to host a honey bee hive right here on our rooftop? During their latest hive check, the team discovered that the bees had completely built out a new frame and were already filling it with nectar.

The colony is growing so strong that Alvéole has now added more space for honey storage. 🍯

An epic week was spent in the mountains. Everything was pure perfection and I've got a little video and pics to share. I didn't go crazy with content on this trip as it was mainly some bonding time with me and the dog. But I have a Jasper adventure planned very soon that will be ALL content.

WELL HOLY S**T!!

After much procrastinating and messing around and procrastinating and day dreaming and really just kinda doing stuff. I have finally published and launched my Trail Freakz YouTube channel. I have posted my first crudely edited video and I would really love it even if you don't care much for the outdoors thing just pop over and give it a subscribe. I'm gonna have so much content that is YES very much outdoor related. But I'm gonna have some great cooking stuff, local spots for after the adventures ( so some reviews of local hangouts ) and so much more. I've been dreaming about this for so long so please help me keep it alive.
