A truck full of food and a whole lot of community kindness! 💙🚚

Huge thank you to Red Deer Toyota and everyone who supported their food drive! They delivered an entire truck full of food to the Red Deer Food Bank at a time when our shelves are running low.

This past summer our potato harvest at the community gardens was a huge success. Being able to use so much garden space was such a blessing. These vegetables contribute to a healthy diet and are an amazing addition to the Food Hub for our clients.

A friendly greeting can make an unfamiliar place feel more welcoming.

Our Care Services team is looking for Welcome Desk volunteers to greet clients, answer questions, and help people find their next step at the Red Deer Food Bank.

If you enjoy connecting with people, are comfortable using phones and computers, and can bring a calm, courteous approach to a busy day, we’d love to hear from you.

Have some availability Monday–Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.?

Red Deer Food Bank has kitchen equipment to sell to make room for the expected influx of donations over the coming Giving Season.

We have a Frymaster natural gas deep fryer (brand new, still in the box) 35" L x 21" W x 47"H with 4 legs/casters and cabinet. Asking $1500. There is also a built-in dishwasher available, never installed, and we're open to offers.

🎃 TRICK-OR-EAT! Help Us Collect 10,000 Pounds of Food! 🎃

This Halloween, we're asking Red Deer to come together to turn a night of treats into something truly meaningful for families in our community!

🥫 The goal? Collect 10,000 pounds of food for the Red Deer Food Bank!

But we need YOUR help to make it happen!

🏠 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We're looking for neighbourhood drop-off homes throughout Red Deer!

Here's how it works:

🎃 Sign up to be a drop-off location in your neighbourhood.

📬 Deliver the cards we provide to homes in your area to spread the word.

🥫 On October 31, from 6–9 PM, neighbours can drop off non-perishable food donations at your home.

🚗 Bring your collected donations to the Red Deer Food Bank on Monday, November 2.

It's that simple! Just a few hours of your time could help put food on the table for families right here in Red Deer.

🧡 Not able to volunteer? You can still help! Set aside a few non-perishable food items this Halloween and support a participating neighbourhood drop-off location.

Childhood Shouldn’t Include Hunger.

Fall should be about picking pumpkins, playing in the leaves, making memories, and enjoying all the little moments that make childhood special.

But for too many children right here in our community, hunger is part of their everyday reality.

Last year, the Red Deer Food Bank helped feed over 30,000 individuals, and 40% of them were children.

That's thousands of kids who deserve to be thinking about their next adventure, not their next meal.

What a great way to spend a day! 💙
Last Friday, We had the opportunity to visit Don Campbell Elementary School and chat with over 400 students about the Red Deer Food Bank, the work we do in our community, and how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
We love having the opportunity to connect with young people and help them understand that hunger exists right here in our own community, but more importantly, that everyone, no matter their age, has the power to help. 💚
A huge thank you to Don Campbell Elementary for inviting us and to all the students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and great questions!
The next generation of community helpers is looking pretty amazing! 💙

Today, the Red Deer Food Bank came to Maryview to pick up the generous donations from our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Our students were eager to lend a hand, working together to carry those heavy boxes to the truck! 📦

We are so proud of our Maryview family for living out our faith through kindness, generosity, and service to others. Together, we are making a difference in our community and sharing God’s love with those who need it most. 🙏❤️
