Last, but most certainly not least, we'd like to thank Erin Brown and family for their donation in honour of his daughter Shanisse Brown. We were lucky to be able to support Shanisse for about 2 years. Shanisse was a little spitfire who kept us on our toes. We miss Shanisse and are grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of her life. Thank you to Erin and family so much for the generous donation of $500 for the wheelchair accesible van.

The Redvers Rockets Field of Dreams has played an integral part in helping us achieve our goal for a new wheelchair accessible van! They donated a prodigious amount of $20, 240.00, allowing us to not only surpass our goal, but provide us with the opportunity to purchase a multi-passenger vehicle to help transport the individuals we support! The Field of Dreams helped champion our dream, making it our reality!

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Joanne Hollingshead, Tim Hollingshead, Selena Hollingshead, Jacquie Petit, Gerren Petit, Jaython Petit, Joanne Mitchell, Shelby Matthewson and Laura Nechvatal for all their help with a fundraiser for the wheelchair accessible van that was held during the town wide garage sale! A huge thank you goes out to our volunteer firefighters who attended to an alarm at one of our group homes tonight. What would our community do without these selfless people who pull themselves away from their lives to go save those of other people. We’d also like to give a special shout out to Tracy Akins who worked her magic (as usual) and helped with the people we support! Thank you to all!

We would like to thank Lang Plumbing and Chona Lang for their combined donation of $500 towards our Wheelchair accessible van! We are so grateful to our frontline staff and local businesses for their continued support in helping us achieve our goal!

Our van fundraiser has finally come to a close; we had a couple of running fundraisers out there that we had to play out before we could do a final tally. It is with extreme gratitude and awe that we can now finally announce that we brought in approximately $190,000.00 in raised funds. We still have a few more individual thank yous that we will be posting, but we wanted to humbly give a huge thank you to our community (including surrounding communities) and the people that are at the heart of them. We are blown away by the generosity and work people put into helping us achieve this goal. It is awe-inspiring.

We originally got quotes for the van late in 2023 as we were starting to get some traction under us for our fundraising, these quotes were around $127,000.00. About two months ago, when we realized that we were really close to our goal, we got updated quotes which came in at approximatley $142,000.00.

We are going to have about $48,000.00 left after we purchase our van. I have talked to some of the donaters and they are okay with us purchasing a new or close to new 7-passenger van to replace one that we can't take out of town due to safety concerns. This is an amazing, unexpected benefit and everyone at the Redvers Activity Centre is so excited!!!!

A million thank yous would not be enough to express our gratitude for this successful fundraiser. 🥰

The Redvers Activity Centre has several cookbooks from 2019 that we’re giving away! If you’d like a copy or two for yourself, stop by Monday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm to pick them up. We will hold them till end of day Thursday, July 2nd.
