The FCC Food and Beverage Summit brought together entrepreneurs, retailers, distributors, buyers and industry experts in Winnipeg for a day of learning, networking and idea sharing.

Throughout the day, attendees explored industry trends, shared practical insights and connected with peers from across the food and beverage value chain. The Summit provides an opportunity for businesses to build relationships, exchange ideas and gain perspectives that can help support future growth.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the lasting impacts experienced by families, communities and Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

The landscape shown here is part of the Air Ronge region, where the Lac La Ronge Residential School was situated. The history of residential schools is rightly told through the experiences of children and families and those policies also affected connections to land, food systems, culture and economic opportunity. Understanding this history helps us better understand the realities that continue to shape Indigenous Peoples’ lives and communities today.
