Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

You are encouraged to visit the Saskatchewan Residential School Memorial outside at Government House.

💙 Dedicated in 2022, the memorial is a tranquil space that is open to the community and can serve as a beautiful place to pay your respects. It is a place to help provide healing through education, reflection and conversations and to honour those whose lives were lost in Residential Schools, the survivors and their families.

You can visit this space anytime within the Edwardian Gardens.

2026 is International Volunteer Year!

The volunteers you may never see but we absolutely couldn’t do it without them!

2026 is International Volunteer Year, and it’s the perfect time to shine a light on some of the incredible people who make things happen behind the scenes at Government House.

Each month when we host our Victorian Tea, a dedicated group of volunteers quietly gets to work in the ballroom. They start with bare tables and, before you know it, the room has been transformed into a beautiful Victorian Tea Room complete with tablecloths, napkins, cutlery, teacups, menus, and lovely centre pieces.

And then, just as quietly, they’re gone.

You may never see them, but their work is an essential part of making our teas happen. They are just one of the many groups of volunteers who work behind the scenes at Government House, giving their time, energy, and talents to help us preserve, promote, and enhance this special place.

We truly could not do what we do without our volunteers.
So today, a very big THANK YOU to our Tea Room Setup Committee! Your work matters, and we appreciate you more than you know.

New Art Exhibit at Government House!

These aren’t your ordinary birds! And you’ll want to see them before they fly away!

The QEII Art Gallery’s new exhibit, Birds of the Beach, today, Saturday, September 26, and runs until January 10, 2027.

To celebrate SaskAbilities’ 75th anniversary, 13 Saskatchewan artists created 15 colourful art panels, each inspired by a local bird and painted in the artist’s own unique style. The panels will eventually brighten the cabin doors at Camp Easter Seal on Little Manitou Lake.

Since 1930, Camp Easter Seal has provided an authentic, fully barrier-free camping experience for people experiencing disability, welcoming campers from more than 80 Saskatchewan communities.

15 artists. 15 birds. 15 completely different works of art. One beautiful exhibit.

The days are still warm, the evenings are getting cooler, and Mother Nature is putting on a beautiful show.

Have you heard? Registration is now OPEN for the Victorian Christmas Tea! 🎄☕

This much-loved holiday tradition is always popular, so don’t wait to register! Registration is open September 1 through October 4 at 4 p.m. After registration closes, seating will be assigned by lottery draw. This year’s tea takes place December 5 & 6.

Government House is hosting an artist reception this Saturday, September 19 from 1 – 3 p.m.

Join Diane Larouche Ellard & Cindy Hoppe for a demonstration of their painting techniques and then indulge in some sweet treats and a beverage while checking out their beautiful art pieces hanging in Government House Queen Elizabeth II art gallery.

And the best part? No registration. No admission fee. Just come and enjoy!
