Have you seen the Whispers of the Quiet Wide exhibit in the QEII Art Gallery yet?

It is a beautiful display of Saskatchewan landscapes, and the wonderful uses of fibre, mixed media and encaustic works create a sensory experience of the land’s quiet but powerful presence. As you walk through the gallery you will see how each picture surprises you…took at texture, do you see the metallic flashes, etc. You will not be disappointed.

Happy Saskatchewan Day!

Fun Fact: Saskatchewan Day has only been an official holiday since 1975.
When the holiday was proposed, Saskatchewan's Minister of Labour, Gordon Snyder, had a simple idea. He believed our long, cold winters made our precious summer days even more special, and that everyone deserved a paid day off to get outside, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy everything Saskatchewan has to offer.

We'd say that was a pretty great idea!

If you're looking for a way to celebrate today, why not spend some time at Government House?
• Wander through our beautiful Edwardian Gardens.
• Pack a picnic and relax on the grounds.
• Step inside for a free tour of the museum.
• Explore our current exhibits and discover a little Saskatchewan history along the way.

However you celebrate, we hope you have a wonderful Saskatchewan Day. We look forward to seeing you at Government House! PS: There is no charge for admission, tours, exhibits, or for using our gardens.

“What are you waiting for?” we ask dramatically.

If you haven't visited “In The Limelight: The Foundation of Theatre in Regina” exhibit, now is the perfect time!

Step into the fascinating story of Regina's theatre community and discover how more than 100 years of amateur and professional productions have shaped our city's culture, education, and sense of community.

You might be surprised to learn that Government House played a starring role in that history. From providing rehearsal and performance space as Saskatchewan House to Lieutenant Governors serving as Honorary Patrons, Government House has long been connected to the performing arts.

Explore the stories behind Regina Little Theatre, Globe Theatre, and the famous Trial of Louis Riel production, and see how these remarkable organizations have left their mark on Regina and Saskatchewan.

Whether you're a theatre lover, a history buff, or simply looking for something unique to do this summer, this is an exhibit you won't want to miss.

Admission is free—we hope to see you at Government House soon!
