The first Wednesday of May is recognized as National Interpreter Appreciation Day. We want to acknowledge the hard work, professionalism, and dedication our interpreters bring every day.

Without our incredible team, the work we do would not be possible at the level we strive for. Their commitment ensures clear communication, stronger connections, and better outcomes for the people we serve.

Together, we are bridging languages and building lives.

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Some days feel heavier than others — and still, you keep going.

Mental health looks different for everyone, and every step forward (no matter how small) matters. Getting through the day, showing up, or simply holding on during difficult moments takes strength.

You may not always see your progress, but it’s there.

You’re doing better than you think.

And if things feel like too much, reaching out for support is a strong and important step — we’re here for you. 💚

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚
Checking in with yourself doesn’t have to be complicated — small steps can make a big difference.
Have you had water today?
Have you been kind to yourself?
Have you taken a moment to rest?
Have you reached out to someone?
Have you stepped outside for fresh air?
These small check-ins can help you stay connected to what you need.
And if things feel heavier than you can manage on your own, you don’t have to navigate it alone — support is here.

Let’s continue looking out for ourselves and each other. 💚

If you need support, please reach out to us 306-525-0521

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚
Mental health can affect anyone, at any time — even in ways we may not always see.
If you’ve been struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or not like yourself lately, you are not alone. It’s okay to not be okay.
This week is a reminder that support matters. Whether it’s reaching out to someone you trust, checking in with yourself, or connecting with a professional — you deserve care and understanding.
Together, we can create a more supportive and compassionate community.
We’re here for you. 💚

The Rooted Connections team had the honour of participating in the “Honouring Their Spirits” walk in recognition of the MMIWG2S+ movement. We are deeply grateful to the Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise, Heritage Community Association, Carmichael Outreach, and Newo-Yotina Friendship Centre for organizing such a meaningful and powerful gathering.

It was a time to walk together in remembrance, in solidarity, and in commitment. We honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people, and we hold space for their families, loved ones, and communities.

At Rooted Connections, we recognize that allyship is not a one-time act, it is ongoing, intentional, and grounded in accountability. As an organization that supports many Indigenous individuals and families, we see both the strength within community and the realities of systemic harm. We remain committed to doing the hard work: advocating, listening, learning, and showing up in ways that help keep our sisters, brothers, and Two-Spirit relatives safe.

We walk not only in memory, but in action.

Spring… is that you?! …Nope. Just more Saskatchewan winter!

If your mood has been going through as many phases as this weather, you’re not alone. These days can really wear on your energy, motivation, and overall well-being. Feeling a little more tired, irritable, or just completely over it lately? Totally valid. And also something you don’t have to navigate on your own.

At Rooted, our counselling team is here to support you with care, compassion, and practical tools to help you feel more like yourself again.

Because while we can’t control the weather… we can support how you get through it 💛 Reach out anytime, we’re here when you’re ready 306-525-0521.

The New Roots Creative Circle workshops are officially underway!

The first workshop was all about drawing and coloring. Newcomer clients come together to explore a new skill or reconnect with ones they already love. The workshops are organized by the Newcomer Counsellor and Newcomer Family Support Worker while newcomers have the opportunity to lead and host the workshops. These workshops are more than just creative outlets—they are spaces to connect, build confidence, learn, and support mental well-being.

Spring registration is now closed, but we’re excited to bring this workshop back again soon. Stay tuned!

We’re so excited to announce the return of our Wellness Warriors Summer Camp!
This camp is designed to give children a safe, supportive, and fun environment where they can:
💛 Learn about their feelings and build mental health awareness
💛 Develop healthy coping strategies they can use every day
💛 Strengthen confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation
💛 Navigate friendships and social dynamics with the support of trained counsellors
💛 Practice communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
Our experienced counselling team will be there every step of the way, guiding, encouraging, and helping children feel seen, heard, and understood.
We are incredibly grateful to the Community Initiatives Fund for their generous support. Because of this grant, we are able to offer a sliding scale for those families who require it making mental health support accessible to more children in our community.
Spaces will fill quickly, please contact today to register.
