Regina Public School Board - Trustee Adam Hicks Adam Hicks is your Regina Public School Board Elected Trustee. Visit www.adamhicks.info for more information. I will represent your voice at the table.

I care about children receiving the best education possible and for that reason, I was elected to represent Subdivision 3 as your Public School Board Trustee. I will focus on continuing the successful programs that are currently in place in our school division and I will seek areas in which improvements can be made. I will work to have the Regina School Division operating at its highest capacity to best educate our students. I am in this to sit on the board and work with six other trustees to resolve issues, make decisions and create improvements where necessary. I believe in full transparency and effective communication. I will focus on communicating why decisions are made and explain how other aspects of education are effected by such decisions. I will be available and open for discussions, meetings, and receiving feedback from the citizens. I have had extensive training in management and working positively in a group environment. I know how to be an effective member of a team and the importance of being able to show measurable results. I graduated with distinction obtaining a bachelor of business administration in management as well as a certificate in economics from the University of Regina. I continued my education by taking many training courses that would enhance my knowledge as a leader. Most recently, I have obtained my Certified Professional Management (CPA, CMA) designation and Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. I will be an active member of the board seeking feedback, conducting research, devising plans and putting them into action. To contact me, please send me a message at the bottom of the webpage and I will get back to you promptly. We all benefit from an educated society.

Thank you to all the families who attended last night and the feedback is appreciated. Harbour Landing and other impacted school families, you will receive final details in the coming months.

The new school (name to be announced in a few weeks and thank you to the 200+ name submissions mostly from the students) is on target to be completed for September 2027. The fire that had been seen on social media was on the Catholic Division side and has not impacted the Public side progress.

The opening will finally relieve capacity pressure off of the current Harbour Landing school and Ethel Milliken school. French immersion will remain at École Dr A E Perry school and both harbour landing schools will remain English.

The current boundary for Argyle school will remain and will not go back to what it was previously before the last boundary change.

Transportation details are still being looked at and after the feedback we are are looking into final details and will be in touch with families soon.

Every Child Matters—today and every single day.

On September 28, 2026, MacNeill School honoured Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by moving beyond awareness and engaging in meaningful learning and action. Throughout the day, every class took part in research, reflection, and discussion, culminating in the creation of class land acknowledgements that helped students deepen their understanding of the history of the land on which they learn and gather.

Students also read "Every Child Matters," the story of Phyllis Webstad, and reflected on the lasting impacts of the residential school system. As part of this learning, students considered the freedoms they enjoy today that were denied to Indigenous children who attended residential schools. They recorded their thoughts on paper shoe cutouts, completing the statement, “In my shoes, I can…” The shoes were then displayed as a community art project, symbolizing both reflection and a commitment to reconciliation.

The day began with a staff smudge ceremony before the shoe display was shared with the school community. Special thanks to Indigenous Advocate Teacher Jessica Madiratta for leading the day’s activities. Before lunch, students and staff gathered for an assembly featuring Elder Hazel Dixon, as well as Indigenous drumming instructors and students from Albert School.

Reconciliation is not a single day or a box to check. It is an ongoing commitment to listening, learning, understanding, and taking action. Through opportunities such as these, MacNeill School continues its journey toward reconciliation and strives to be an active ally in building a more respectful and inclusive future.

Easy two page read to see some of the facts behind our budget - extra fun fact is we have approximately 13% of every single citizen in all of Regina in one of our almost 60 buildings every single school day. Does not count parents or spouses - that is just the 27,000 students and over 3,000 staff.

Have you always wondered what makes up a school division's budget? Well today might just be your lucky day...

We just posted our budget highlights for the 2026-27 school year. Check the document out here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VBKHy106bRroDyibezzBTqAuusVBud3s/view?usp=sharing
