Applications are now open! Women Shifting Gears is a 15-week program that helps guide women to a professional driving career in the transportation industry. Participants receive essential skills training, mentorship and job shadowing, driving them to job readiness and economic independence.

The program is delivered by YWCA Saskatoon in partnership with the Saskatchewan Trucking Association and trucking employers, and is proudly supported by SGI.

Designed for recent Indigenous graduates from Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions, this paid internship offers hands-on experience, meaningful work, mentorship, and the opportunity to build a career at SGI.

James joined SGI through the Crown Career Pathways internship program after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

As an intern in IT, James worked on real projects and software enhancements while learning how teams across the organization work together.

"The internship exceeded my expectations because I was trusted with meaningful work and had opportunities to contribute right away," James said. "Working on real projects helped me build confidence and better understand what a career in software development looks like."
