On June 3, Thomson Community School proudly celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day with a day full of learning, culture, and community. The morning featured a variety of engaging stations, including dance demonstrations, fish scale art, archery, and other cultural activities that allowed students to learn and connect in meaningful ways.
A special thank you goes to FCC for helping prepare a Taco in a Bag lunch for our entire school community, and to the Thomson Food Collective for sharing delicious lentils and watermelon soup.
The afternoon brought everyone together for a community assembly where we celebrated Indigenous culture and talent. One of the highlights was watching our own Thomson Tigers showcase their powwow dancing skills, demonstrating confidence, pride, and a strong connection to culture.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day such a memorable celebration of Indigenous traditions, learning, and community spirit.
