THE END OF AN ERA.

It is old. It is run down. And, today, it retired.

The RHS building on Armour Road has stood for almost 6 decades as the central hub for animal welfare in our city. Tens of thousands of animals have passed through these doors. Some had been neglected or abused. Others were sick or injured. Many had simply become separated from their family, and this building offered the hope of a happy reunion with them. Sadly, there were some who were too ill or injured and they could not be saved. But, during their time in this building, they were always surrounded by caring and compassion and people who did all they could to ease their pain and soul.

We smile when we remember the wagging tails and playful purrs (even many squeaks and chirps too) as once homeless or unwanted animals made their way out through these doors, to start new lives and adventures as part of new families in their forever home. So many long and happy stories started right here.

This place has been more than just a building. It brought people and animals together and sowed the seeds of lifetimes of love and companionship. It has been a sanctuary to animals with nowhere else to turn and a place where they had a voice that was loud, strong and was heard.

Today, shortly after this photo was taken, a newly adopted pet left these doors for the final time as we prepare to move to our new Animal Community Centre over the coming week. While we are excited about our new home, we recognize and pay tribute to our old home, which has served our community well and helped launch so many tales of love, laughter, and happiness.

Today I got FANTASTIC SERVICE at the Great Canadian Oil Change in the east end of Regina on Quance Street.

The Service Greeter (blonde woman 👩) was terrific, listened and very friendly!

Aidan, the Service Tech, listened and handled all issues like a Pro!

Definitely would highly recommend going there.
