Namerind joins Housing and Infrastructure Canada in Montreal today alongside our fellow housing organizations from across the nation, with Minister Gregor Robertson leading the discussion on the future of housing and homelessness policies and programs.

Chief Executive Officer Robert Byers urges the importance of Indigenous-led housing delivery, community-led solutions for homelessness and long-term, stable funding opportunities.

Namerind is committed to reconciliation through our relationships, and envisions a future of even stronger collaboration between the Canadian government and housing providers.

We look forward to working together towards new solutions and ones that speak to all of the people that we serve.

As the Community Entity, Namerind is committed to sharing monthly information on the number of those experiencing homelessness throughout 2026. Reducing and eliminating homelessness in Regina will require collaboration across our whole community, and our organization is dedicated to public awareness of numbers rising in our most vulnerable populations - This includes children and youth, which make up a collective 37% of those experiencing homelessness in Regina in April.

Namerind is pleased to announce Regina’s 6th Annual Homelessness Conference to be held on September 10, 2026 at the Queensbury Convention Centre.

Following the tenth anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s release of the 94 Calls to Action, we are bringing 6 guest speakers with stories to inspire towards this year’s theme of Hope and Prevention.
