Regina Railfest 2026 Cancelled

The Echo Valley Railroad Guild has arranged for the Regina Railfest model railroad shows for a number of years. These shows have been held at the Caledonian Curling Club on the same weekend of each calendar year. They have provided a good means for all to share in the hobby.

For 2026, the organizers of Supertrain, based in Calgary, revised their 2026 show timing, and selected exactly the same weekend as Railfest had previously selected to hold their annual model railroad show. Their actions have placed holding of our annual Railfest in jeopardy. Model railroad clubs and vendors now have to select which show they will attend, and this has been to the significant detriment of the Railfest show.

The members of the Echo Valley Railroad Guild met recently to discuss the situation. It was decided that given less participation by some Saskatchewan hobby clubs as well as vendors, that it would not be possible to hold a model railroad show that would be up to display standards and expectations that the public attending would deserve.

The members of the Echo Valley regret to advise that Railfest 2026, which was to be held on April 25th and 26th, has been cancelled.
We do anticipate resuming our Railfest at the Caledonian Curling Club the second last weekend of April 2027. Show dates April 24th & 25th, with set up on April 23rd.

November 2025 Special Event FREE

The Echo Valley Railroad Guild is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a public showing of model railroad layouts and exhibits in the Victoria Square shopping mall, located at 2223 Victoria Avenue East in Regina.

There will be two operating model railroads. The first is the O scale narrow gauge South Park and Western layout, which is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide and is patterned after a 1915 steam train trip from Denver, Colorado to Oakland, California. It includes mines, a sawmill, a city with an operating streetcar line, western towns and a harbor scene with a fish cannery.

The second railroad is the Haslam Creek bridge line, an HO scale narrow gauge railroad which includes a handmade bridge that is over 7 feet long and 3 feet high.

The exhibits will include an HO scale structure diorama which is 12 feet long and includes over 30 handmade buildings. There will also be displays of club dioramas, Operation Lifesaver and the National Model Railroad Association.

The show will be located in the mall’s community space, which is in the centre of the mall near the food court. It will be open to the public and there will be no admission fee.

Regina Railfest 2025 Still Underway

Today is the second day of Regina Railfest. Thank you to everyone to came out to see the show yesterday. We had a great turnout.

Reminder that the doors are open from 9 AM to 4 PM today.

DON'T MISS OUT!

There will be lots to see for all ages at Regina Railfest 2025.

We will be setup for weekend of April 26/27, 2025 at the Caledonian Curling Club, 2225 Sandra Schmirler Way, Regina (near the airport).

Hours 9-5 on Saturday and 9-4 on Sunday.

The show will feature many displays and vendors, some of which have never been seen at Regina Railfest. They will be from Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. A LEGO display will also be on hand.

Prices remain unchanged for the 8th straight year! Families $20 (2 adults and up to 3 youth or children); adults $10; youth (5-16) $5; children (4 and under) free.

Here are examples of the skilled modelling that will be on display.

Experience Joy! Create Memories! Spark your imagination!

Animation is fun! See the trains running with sound and lighting. You will see trains and scenery from modern to those that your parents, grandparents or great grandparents saw when they were young.

Many scales will be represented, ranging from T (1/450 of real life) to G (1/22.5 of real life).

The show is April 26/27, 2025 at the Caledonian Curling Club, 2225 Sandra Schmirler Way, Regina (near the airport).

Moose Jaw Train Show Coming Soon!

The annual Moose Jaw Train Show will be held on the weekend of March 22 & 23, 2025 at the Moose Jaw Western Development Museum. Those who attended the show last year might remember these scenes from our Free-mo layout.

We will be setting up our Free-mo layout again this year. In addition, another of our club's layouts will also be in operation - this layout is On30 scale and has been completely revamped and enlarged in the past year. It is spectacular!

Happy New Year and Thank You

Thank you to everyone who has shared and/or liked our posts.

Thank you also to everyone who was able to attend Railfest 2024 in April. We always enjoy talking to guests and answering questions as they view the model railways on display.
