Our next Zone Award recipient is Kim Bulmer from Zone 6.
Having recently retired after a 32-year career with the Town of Renfrew, Kim has been steadfast in his commitment to AMCTO and Zone 6 throughout the duration of his career. The impact he has made on municipal politics and supporting friends and colleagues will be felt for years to come. His calm, quiet, humorous demeanor and service to others is unwavering. He led with integrity, sincerity and a sense of wise knowledge that encouraged even strangers to reach out to him for support. His collaborative approach to problem solving and helping municipal employees and communities grow should be recognized. Over the years Kim has been instrumental in supporting zone activities, encouraging various guest speakers and promoting front line staff to participate in Association offerings.
Kim was first hired by the Town of Renfrew in 1991 and has worked with 10 different councils. He served the town in numerous capacities, including as a Municipal Management Intern, Assistant to the clerk, deputy clerk/planner, town clerk and, most recently, Acting Director of Strategic Priorities. His commitment to the Town, professional development, and municipal governance is evident through his loyalty to one employer. The Town of Renfrew, AMCTO and Zone 6 are privileged to have worked alongside such an admirable professional.
