Richmond Hill Home Invasion Shooting Leaves One Person Seriously Injured.

York Region Police are searching for an unknown number of suspects following a home invasion and shooting in Richmond Hill early Sunday morning, September 6, 2026.

Police were called to a home in the Leslie Street and William F. Bell Parkway area just after 4 a.m. for reports of a shooting inside a home.

One person was taken from the residence to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known but were said to be non life-threatening.

According to police, two to three masked suspects fled the scene in a Honda CRV, believed to be grey in color, likely stolen.

Man Wanted After Sexual Assault in Richmond Hill.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect in connection with a sexual assault in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the victim was in the area of Highway 7 East and Bayview Avenue when she was approached by an unknown male suspect. The suspect grabbed the victim, attempted to cover her mouth and touched her for a sexual purpose.

The victim was able to free herself causing the suspect to flee on foot.

The suspect is described as male, Black, 6 feet tall, with short hair and was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black plants and was carrying a black suitcase.

Police urge anyone who may recognize or have information regarding this individual to contact them immediately.

Two Suspects Sought in L.C.B.O. Theft.

The L.C.B.O. location at 10375 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill has again been targeted by thieves this month. Yesterday evening, July 27, 2026, at approximately 6:30pm, a quantity of alcohol was allegedly stolen by two youths in a coordinated scheme.

The incident began earlier in the day when the pair entered the store and the suspects legally purchased a small quantity of alcohol, one of them presenting a valid I.D.

A short time later, the two returned to the same store, and allegedly while the second suspect deliberately created a distraction and diversion to occupy the store's staff, the first suspect allegedly grabbed merchandise and bolted outside, followed by his accomplice, and both chased by staff.

Later on the same evening, the pair were spotted in an adjacent building complex at Yonge & Crosby. Residents of the property confronted them about the theft, and were met with threats as the two fled the area.

The suspects were wearing the same clothing as in these images at the time of the theft.

First suspect is said to be a 19 -21 year old man, medium height, thin build, bushy brown hair, wearing a camo-hoodie over a black top, black shorts, and black slides.

Second suspect is said to be a 14 -16 year old youth, short-to-medium height, stocky build, dark bushy hair, wearing a red hoodie over a white Nike top, black pants, and running shoes.

It is said that the pair have previously engaged in this type of partnered theft in other stores. Police are said to be investigating the matters in the days to come. Window of L.C.B.O. Smashed by Brick in Late Night Incident.

In the early morning hours of July 19th, 2026, police attended at the L.C.B.O. location at 10375 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, in response to an alarm call at the liquor store.

The front window had apparently been smashed-in by a brick of concrete, in what locals described as a botched break-and-enter or burglary attempt.

Shortly after, police located and arrested a suspect nearby. There were no further incidents, and no injuries reported.

Ontario introduced major driving law changes that took effect on July 1, 2026, primarily targeting impaired driving, foreign driver licensing, commercial trucking, and highway speed limits.

The key updates and road safety regulations include:

Impaired Driving Crackdown: Anyone convicted of impaired driving must permanently install an ignition interlock device on their vehicle. It also introduces a mandatory six-month zero-tolerance period for alcohol and drugs after the interlock requirement is complete, with immediate suspensions for violations.

Foreign License Changes: Drivers from countries without reciprocal exchange agreements are capped at 12 months of credit for foreign driving experience. They must complete both the G2 and full G road tests, with a mandatory 12-month wait after passing the G2 before attempting the G test.

Highway Speed Limits: Speed limits permanently increased from 100 km/h to 110 km/h across approximately 938 km of additional 400-series highways (including sections of the Highway 401 and 416).

Class A Experience Rules: To improve safety, a full G license must be held for at least six months within the previous year before taking a full Class A (commercial truck) road test.

Commercial & Towing Updates: The Registrar can now add conditions to Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) certificates, and tow truck operations face strengthened photo/marking rules along with an initial fee freeze.

Fee Freeze: Annual increases for driver's licenses and road tests have been officially cancelled and frozen.

It's a recipe for disaster. The poor neighbors are in for a disturbing Summer and Fall, to say the least.

New interim location of Krasman Centre deliberately kept secret... and now we know why.

The densely residential neighborhood at Major Mackenzie Drive East & Essex Avenue in Richmond Hill is about to become "Hell Central" for the people and families who live there, and those citizens are apparently so insignificant in the eyes of those making bad yet critical decisions affecting their lives, that they cheated those citizens out of their right "to know" what was about to happen. Those decision-makers were afraid of dealing with what they knew would be the inevitable result of their patently bad decisions: Outrage.

We at T.R.O.T.H. have suspended our Summer hiatus to bring you this information. The quiet neighborhood in question now has a disruptive new neighbor, The Krasman Centre, an agency which had demonstrably and indisputably been the source of significant trouble and problems for nearby residents for years while at its previous location on Yonge Street just north of Major Mackenzie Drive. All that chaos has now migrated about two kilometers to the southeast, into an unsuspecting subdivision.

Over the last several months, while foolish decisions were being made by those behind the curtains, and while members of Krasman, City Council, and those at The Region of York were busy patting themselves on the back for their machinations, the hundreds of forsaken residents of the Essex neighborhood were purposely kept completely in the dark, eliminating any chance they may have had to do anything about what was being planned for them.

In particular, The Region of York should've known better. They put disruptive "services" into a residential building in 2016, and it has caused nothing but heartache and jeopardy ever since for those who were already living there. And as we all know, in 2019, they were named as a defendant in a lawsuit launched by dozens of surrounding neighbors, citing damages (in part) for Negligence as a result of the poor decision to dump mismanaged "services" into the once-peaceful residential community. And now... they've done it once again, to another community.

It's been said that this new location in the Essex Neighborhood is to be only "temporary", albeit at least several months. But there is no guarantee given that it won't continue for much longer than that, so what exactly does "temporary" mean? And besides, we all remember that a few years ago, Krasman had once before been moved to a "temporary" location at Richmond Hill's Wave Pool facility, and that "temporary" arrangement lasted across two years, before it returned to its previous site in the City's downtown core, to the chagrin of the residents who hoped it had been gone for good, and while bringing with it new and increased disruptions.

In January of this year, City Councillors and representatives of York Region were already made re-aware of the severe problems caused by Krasman, which according to nearby residents and businesses included: "a deteriorating quality of life in the area", violence, crime, vandalism, vagrancy, late-night disturbances, lewd behavior, open alcohol- and drug-abuse, relentless trespassing, squatting, the pressing need to upgrade security measures, and, an overwhelming feeling of unease and un-safeness.

At T.R.O.T.H., we reported on the issue at that time, focusing on the "secrecy" aspect, believing that keeping the community oblivious was a conscientious choice made by the authorities involved to deprive citizens of their absolute rights to protest the relocation, voice their objections to Council, and to provide any meaningful community consultation or input, and especially, to deny residents any chance to take precautions or to prepare for the inevitable flood of disturbances and disruptions until it was too late. From those working on the issue, the "official" reasons provided to us for this "secrecy" was to prevent "confusion" for the clients of Krasman, and not to blindside the community. Now, six months later, it is clear that in fact T.R.O.T.H. was correct in its initial assessment.

Over the past 24 hours since the news broke, we have interviewed nearly two-dozen residents residing within a stone's-throw of the new location of Krasman. Until we told them, not a single individual said they were aware of Krasman now operating in their neighborhood, yet almost all of them acknowledged being previously aware of the troubles caused by the agency at its former site. Nearly all of them also readily stated that they felt they ought to have been informed ahead of time.

One resident named Lisa told us that she had yesterday seen a questionable individual lurking around several homes on her street nearby. She gave us a description, and we showed her a few photos. She identified a person called "Justin", and we informed her that he is an unstable drug-addict, known to be prone to extreme violence and has been involved in several overdose incidents over the past months between Krasman's former site and 360kids at 'The Hub'. "So, it's [the trouble] starting already?" she asked, "For how long?". We let her know, at least several months. "But I have kids!" she pleaded. We didn't have the heart to tell her that those who made the decision simply don't care about that.

We spoke to Jamil, another local resident, who just kept saying, "Oh, I'm pi**ed!". He informed us that he was well-aware of what he called "the bullsh-t" he's personally seen around Krasman's former location because of that agency, and that his primary grievance is the complete lack of foreknowledge. Or more accurately, lack of forewarning. He said, "They can put it wherever they want. They stick it where the sun don't shine, for all I care, but somebody should've told us! We had a right to know beforehand that this was gonna be Hell Central!".

A resident named Mohammad was nearby listening to our conversation, and decided to chime-in, sharing Jamil's sentiments. Calmly, he said, "This was dirty; They didn't want us to know, because they didn't want to deal with our complaints.". Then he lamented, "From all the places in Richmond Hill to choose-pick, why did they think the best place was to put this in our HOMES, with our families?". We told him why: Because they haven't learned a damned thing in ten years.

We familiarized him with the situation at 'The Hub', operating similar services to what Krasman provides. And that since 2016, there have been hundreds of complaints from surrounding residents and businesses about the mismanaged services. Over the decade, the conclusion has been repeatedly reached and confirmed that the arrangement has been a complete and utter failed experiment for the neighborhood. Forcing these types of agencies into a residential building will never work and can never work. And the people making these bad decisions know it. "Then why did they do this again?", Mohammad asked, "Are their brains stupid?". We didn't know what to respond. How do you answer that when we know what we know?

Eventually, we spoke to Carol, and told her about the development. "Are you kidding me?!", she exclaimed, but didn't stick around too much longer to chat with us. After we got her name, she impatiently hurried away, telling us she "has to go tell some people about this".

We did manage to get Carol's and most of the others' consent to use their statements and images during these video-recorded interviews, so that we can produce a complete video of our findings. We'll be publishing it to The T.R.O.T.H. Network shortly.

In the meantime, for those of you learning about this situation for the first time, and for those of you living within the impacted area of the Krasman Centre's new location, all we can advise you is this: The upcoming danger and disruption to your lives is REAL. You've been blindsided by those who made this ignorant decision, and yes, it isn't fair to you or your families. We sympathize, wholeheartedly. But, do not be fooled by anyone telling you that "everything will be fine" and that "there's nothing to worry about". That is false hope unsupported by historic evidentiary fact. Those of us who have been forced to live this type of situation for a decade or longer will be the first to tell you what The Reality will be: Your homes and your lives are about to be hit by an epic dumpster fire... do whatever you can to brace yourselves for it. Your neighborhood as you've known it is about to negatively changed forever. And we're so sorry that those who decided to dump it on you have such little respect for you that they wouldn't give you the courtesy of a simple "heads-up". You deserve better. We all do.

Design: Must have two wheels, brakes, a bell or horn, front/rear lights, and side reflectors.

Age: Riders must be at least 16 years old.

Helmets: Mandatory for riders under 18 years old.

Riding Style: You must remain standing. Passengers and cargo are not permitted.

Road Rules: All Highway Traffic Act rules of the road apply (e.g., stop signs, traffic lights). You cannot ride on 400-series highways or controlled-access roads.

Police search for 3 suspects after glass display cases smashed at Richmond Hill electronics store.

Police are investigating after a smash-and-grab robbery at an electronics store in Richmond Hill over the weekend.

York Regional Police said they responded to a commercial robbery in the area of High Tech and Red Maple roads at around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

When officers arrived at the scene, police said they learned two suspects allegedly armed with at least one metal object walked into the store and started smashing glass cases.

They allegedly stole an undisclosed quantity of electronics before fleeing in a black pick-up truck that was driven by a third suspect.

Police say the pick-up, described as a black Ford 250, was reported stolen from Toronto and was last seen travelling southbound on Highway 404.

There were no reported injuries from the incident.

In a release, York police say they are looking for two male suspects between 30 to 40 years old and are roughly five-foot-six.

Police say the first suspect was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt, white shoes, grey pants, a black and white hat, a medical mask and gloves. They add that he has a tattoo on his right forearm “showing four large characters.”

Officers describe the second suspect as having a large floral tattoo on his left upper arm. They add that he was last seen wearing a dark blue T-shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a black hat.
