Pickleball anyone?
On September 14, 2026, we celebrated the official opening of six new pickleball courts at South Arm Community Park, creating even more ways for Richmond residents of all ages and abilities to get active, and connect with others.
Whether you’re new and learning what a “kitchen” is, or you’ve perfected your “double shot” and are looking for a little friendly competition, there is a court and a community waiting for you!
A big thank you to the Richmond BC Pickleball Association for its generous donation of $25,000 to support the continued growth of the sport in Richmond.

Hey Richmond, online applications for mail ballots are available starting now until Friday, October 9 at 3:00 p.m. You can also request a package by phone at 604-276-4100 until October 15 at 3:00 p.m.

Mail ballot packages will be mailed from September 28 to October 7. After October 7, you must pick up your package at City Hall.

🚧 Traffic Advisory: Steveston Highway Multi-Use Pathway Construction

Construction begins the week of September 21, 2026, along Steveston Highway between Shell Road and the Steveston Interchange.

🚦 Single-lane traffic will be maintained in each direction, with traffic shifts and lane closures in place. Access to shopping centres will remain available via Coppersmith Way and No. 5 Road.

🚌 Some bus stops will be temporarily relocated.

Please plan ahead, follow posted signage and traffic-control directions, and allow extra travel time. 🚗🚲🚶

You asked, we listened! 🙌

More climbing, more challenge and more ways to play have arrived at Steveston Community Park!

Thanks to community feedback and a generous contribution from the Steveston Community Society, new playground enhancements are being added to create more opportunities for active and adventurous play.

✨ New monkey bars for climbing, strength and skill-building
🪢 New rope climbers for an added challenge
🚢 A new connection between the existing shipwreck and wobble boards for a more dynamic play experience
🔄 No equipment removed: one swing set was shifted slightly to make room for the new additions

The Steveston Community Society funded the improvements largely through a generous contribution, along with the remaining approved funding from the Steveston Playground Renewal project.

Come check out the improvements and enjoy the playground! 🌳
