Unfortunately, the Baytex Aquatic Centre will be closed this weekend and into next week due to a tear in the pool liner that caused a significant water leak.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience as we work to address the issue.

On a positive note, a new pool liner was approved by Council during the 2026 budget deliberations. The replacement project is scheduled to begin following the 2026 pool season, with final installation and finishing touches to be completed before the start of the 2027 season.

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and support.

📝 Registration takes place today at Keyera Place (5109 54 Street) from 10am–12pm and 4pm–6pm. Please bring your completed registration form.

📞 To help accommodate registration, the Community Centre will not be answering phones during registration sessions today.

Rimbey Aquatic Centre Closure Notice

Due to weather conditions, the Rimbey Aquatic Centre will be closed for the remainder of the day on June 2, 2026.

School pool rentals will still be open, at the school's discretion.

As outlined in our weather policy, the Outdoor Aquatic Centre may be cleared and closed when the air temperature is 10°C or below and will be closed for the remainder of the day if temperatures remain at or below 10°C by 1:00 p.m.

Morning lap swim on June 1, 2026 has also been cancelled. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates regarding the facility's operating status for the remainder of the day.

Recycle your electronics, paint, and used oil materials for free.

All Town of Rimbey residents cand bring their recyclables to: Rimbey Public Works Yard (4705 46th Ave) on Saturday, May 30 from 10am-2pm. Event will be held rain or shine!

🗓️ Mark your calendar! Registration begins in person at Keyera Place: 5109 54 Street (formerly the Peter Lougheed Community Centre) on June 3, 2026. To accommodate the community, we have scheduled 2 registration sessions: 10am-12pm and 4pm-6pm. Please bring your completed registration form with you.

📞 After June 3, we will be able to take registration from 8:30-4:30 Mon-Fri at the Recreation Office (5109 54 Street), or over the phone (403-843-0131).

Good news, swimmers! ☀️🏊‍♀️

The Baytex Aquatic Centre will officially be OPENING tomorrow!

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated the opening of the pool and worked to get everything ready for the season ahead.

Please note that we are still warming up the pool water, so temperatures may be a little cooler than usual for the first few days. A little chilly water never stopped an Alberta summer though, right? 😉

POOL UPDATE: Unfortunately, we are still waiting on our bacteriological water sample results from Alberta Health Services before we are legally permitted to open the pool.

At this point, all startup work on our end has been completed and the facility is ready to go pending approval of these required test results. Our health inspector has been checking with the lab for updates and will continue to do so over the weekend. As soon as the samples are received and confirmed negative for bacteria, we will be able to proceed with opening the facility.

We understand this is frustrating and disappointing for everyone eager to get back in the water. Our staff and lifeguards are ready to go, and we are just as excited to welcome everyone back to the pool this season.
