Over the years, our members have had the privilege of getting to know and work alongside Cecile Cassista through many conversations and community events focused on the safety and well-being of Riverview residents.

Cecile has been a longtime friend of our firefighters and someone who has consistently shown genuine support for the work we do and the people we serve. She understands the importance of strong emergency services and the role they play in keeping our community safe.

Just as importantly, Cecile has always taken the time to listen, to engage with our members, and to support the people who respond when our community needs help the most.

Because of that long-standing relationship and her continued support for public safety, Riverview Professional Firefighters are proud to endorse Cecile Cassista for Councillor at Large.

We look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen public safety and serve the residents of Riverview.

Over the past several years, our members have had the privilege of working alongside Andrew J. LeBlanc - Mayor of Riverview on matters that directly impact public safety and the well-being of our community.

Through regular discussions on department needs, staffing, and critical public safety projects, we have built a positive and respectful working relationship. Mayor LeBlanc has consistently shown that he values the role of emergency services and understands the importance of investing in the safety of our residents.

Based on this working relationship and his ongoing support for public safety, our union is proud to formally endorse Andrew LeBlanc for re-election as Mayor.

We support his vision for our town and hope to continue working together to strengthen public safety and serve our community to the highest standard.

⚠️ As the Town of Riverview continues to grow, so does the demand on emergency services, and 2025 was another clear example of that reality.

🚒 This year alone, our members responded to 2,050 emergency calls, representing a 6.5% increase from 2024 and a 40% increase over the past three years. That growth requires planning, investment, and leadership willing to act.

🏫 We are proud to work in a community where town leadership recognizes that continued success means continued investment in emergency services. In 2025, that commitment was reflected through:

• Two new apparatus placed into service
• Staffing increases
• Four new Firefighter/Paramedics hired and trained
• Countless hours of training and professional development

🚑 Riverview remains the only fire department east of Winnipeg to provide fully licensed Primary Care Paramedic services within its fire department, an essential capability, especially given the ongoing pressures within our healthcare system.

Behind every statistic is a professional response, a trained team, and an unwavering commitment to the safety of our community. We will continue to adapt, grow, and meet the challenges ahead, because our citizens deserve nothing less.

Thank you, Riverview, for your continued support.

🌅 You know what they say, Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning 🚨

We’re expecting freezing rain tonight, and conditions can change fast once things start icing over.

A few quick tips to help everyone get through it safely:

🧊 Slow it down, icy roads mean longer stopping distances
🚗 Leave extra space and give yourself more time
👟 Watch your footing, even a quick step outside can turn into a slip
❄️ If you don’t need to be out, staying home is the best move

Our crews will be ready and keeping an eye on conditions, but a little caution goes a long way. Enjoy the view, respect the warning, and stay safe tonight. 🚒🔥

🎄It’s Christmas Day on the job, just like it was before,
There’s worn boots by the door, tired faces settling in.
Long before pagers, before radios and lights,
Firefighters worked Christmas through the cold winter night.

From horses and steam, to bells cutting the air,
Men waited together with warmth hard to spare.
The Coffee and stories, the slow passing time, Christmas slipped by them to the sound of a chime.

The crews of today carry what came before,
Standing the watch that others have kept
On shift, the stories, the sacrifices, the watch will be kept,
A tradition as old as Ol Saint Nick

So now on this Christmas Day, in the quiet they stay,
Apart of something carried this long, faithful way.
A Christmas on duty, then and today,
A quiet testament that never fades away.

So merry Christmas to all and to all a quiet day

Congrats brothers!
